Job Description
We're seeking an experienced iOS engineering manager to lead and expand the iOS engineering practice within our rapidly growing product division. You'll manage our team of iOS engineers, collaborate closely with product management, design, and other engineering leadership, and be responsible for the delivery of all iOS software development work. As we expand the team aggressively, you'll utilize your demonstrated experience building and scaling engineering teams to show us the path forward to our next stage of growth.
Responsibilities
- Lead and manage our team of iOS engineers.
- Expand the team by recruiting high-caliber engineering talent. Grow the team through coaching, mentoring, and career management.
- Guide the team in the delivery of new product functionality and bugfixes.
- Own all aspects of the software development lifecycle. Responsible for platform and team KPIs.
- Partner closely with product management and design leadership to define, implement, and own product discovery and development processes that are collaborative, effective, and efficient.
- Plan and manage an iOS engineering roadmap, clearly articulating motivations and rationale.
- Responsible for setting goals for the team and ensuring delivery of results.
- Oversee the delivery of a robust and extensible application architecture that accelerates feature development and limits defects.
- Plan, track, and manage multiple in-flight engineering projects. Own timelines and budgets for all iOS engineering work.
- Engage with fellow design and platform engineering managers to ensure a unified product experience.
- Keep pace with the Apple ecosystem and advise on opportunities to integrate with new platform capabilities.
- Responsible for establishing and operating testing processes that ensure consistent quality.
- Responsible for ensuring proper monitoring and response to production app crashes and customer issues.
Qualifications
- 4+ years of direct engineering leadership and people management experience.
- Demonstrated experience building and managing an engineering team within a rapidly growing company, with an established ability to hire and coach people at multiple levels.
- Previous experience working on a large, complex iOS application, preferably in the B2C space.Strong understanding of Swift, UIKit, and iOS app development. Knowledge of client application and system architecture patterns.
- Demonstrated experience establishing and scaling engineering processes with strong results. Excellent ability to organize teams and processes.
- Good knowledge of and interest in investing, banking, and the fintech space.
- Structured, organized thinker that is both attentive to detail and mindful of the big picture.
- Adaptable, self-starter, goal-oriented, and growth-minded.
- Excellent communicator and collaborator.
