Job Description 

TITLE: Principal Software Engineer – Full Stack

DUTIES: DFS Corporate Services LLC seeks Principal Software Engineer – Full Stack in Riverwoods, IL Develop and maintain full stack solutions to fit business needs, including one or more of the following: front-end (user-interfaces), back-end (APIs), database and develop development. Work directly with business partners to understand business requirements. Independently innovate on and advocate for best practices within the team and collaborates on them across the enterprise. Carry a holistic view of all products and their interactions to design complex solutions and plan for how new projects will fit into the larger ecosystem. Solve complex problems. Guide team in implementation of solutions from inception to production. Develop and maintain complex front-ends with a focus on user experience. Develop and maintain backend systems. Use holistic knowledge of all products in the teams’ ecosystem to plan how new systems will be built and integrated. Innovate on and advocate for best practices and improved processes within the team and with internal partners. Stay up-to-date with technology trends and innovations. Mentor team members. Create, maintain and develop processes, application infrastructure, and utilize Cloud services (including database systems and models). Support live systems to ensure business continuity. Promote a risk aware culture to ensure efficient and effective compliance management standards and processes.

REQUIREMENTS: Bachelor’s degree or foreign equivalent in Information Technology, Computer Science or a related field and eight (8) years of progressively responsible experience: utilizing SQL, Python, R, H2O, PySpark, and Jupyter; providing technical consultation for disaster recovery solutions; at least three (3) years of experience working with Linux/Unix including basic commands, shell scripting and solution engineering; utilizing Cloud Platform and AWS; utilizing Container Platform technologies including Docker and Kubernetes.  Employer will accept three (3) years of academic studies towards a Bachelor’s degree in one of the above listed fields plus one (1) year of relevant work experience to satisfy the Bachelor’s degree requirement.
