Summary

Reporting directly to the Project Manager – Testing Lead, the primary responsibilities include performing assigned testing tasks related to System Integration, User Acceptance, etc. as assigned, documenting testing results, and providing feedback. To succeed in this role, you should have an analytical way of thinking and be able to explain difficult concepts to non-technical users.

Responsibilities

• Gather critical information from meetings with various stakeholders and produce useful reports
• Prioritize initiatives based on business needs and requirements
• Write business use cases, test cases and test scripts
• Perform various tests, including negative tests, as assigned by the Quality Manager
• Effectively communicate your insights and plans to the quality manager and project team members
• Conduct meetings, presentations, and workshops to share ideas and findings
• Document and communicate the results of your efforts
• Ensure solutions meet business needs and requirements based on test results
• Monitor deliverables and ensure timely completion of projects

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree or 4-year degree is preferred
• 5+ years of software testing experience is required
  • Use Case and Test script writing experience required
• Experience in testing of enterprise applications with focus on integrated systems
• Understanding of project management and application development standards
  • Understanding of Agile a plus
• Experience with testing tools a plus
• Fundamental analytical and conceptual thinking skills
• Excellent communication skills
• Exceptional documentation skills
  • Experience creating detailed reports and giving presentations
• Advanced technical skills
  • Ability to learn quickly and work with proprietary software
  • Competency in Microsoft applications including Word, Excel, and Outlook
• Excellent planning, organizational, and time management skills
• A history of leading and supporting successful projects
• Working knowledge of Team Foundation Server (TFS) for source control and program tracking a plus
• Working knowledge of Microsoft Test Manager (MTM) for test scripting, executing and reporting also a plus
• Previous working experience within Utility or related industry would be an added advantage
• Ability to work unsupervised in a fast-evolving environment would be an advantage
• Knowledge of automation and automation tools like selenium
• Working knowledge of database and data conversion testing would be needed as well as SQL Management Studio experience
