Job Description
TITLE: Service Reliability Engineer
DUTIES: DFS Corporate Services LLC seeks Service Reliability Engineer in Riverwoods, IL to work with other members of their assigned value stream/product to ensure that the in-scope applications and platforms are meeting performance and stability requirements. Manage major incidents to mitigation and resolution. Perform post-incident reviews of all major incidents and determine action items required to avoid similar issues and minimize downtime for future incidents. Work with application development to ensure that assigned applications and platforms have appropriate monitoring and metrics in place to appropriately measure performance and stability. Identify functional and non-functional improvements. Act as the operations representative in value stream and product planning and prioritization sessions to ensure that operational needs of assigned applications and platforms are addressed as needed. Hold quarterly operational performance reviews with value stream management. Ensure that production releases for in-scope applications and platforms are properly planned and coordinated. Hold change and release implementation reviews to ensure thorough and appropriate implementation plans. Provide review and sign-off or approval of change tickets for the assigned value stream. Represent the value stream in change advisory board meetings. Participate in program increment planning sessions as a liaison for operations and infrastructure support. Provide information regarding upcoming critical changes to value stream and product. Ensure that applications and platforms in the value stream are operationally ready for production. Review all standard operating procedures and knowledge articles annually. Monitor review for any new feature launch or other significant change that may impact monitoring. Review SOPs and knowledge articles for new feature launches or other significant changes that may impact support documentation. Train Command Center and application support on new SOPs, knowledge articles, and any other support related needs. Perform monthly capacity analyses of applications and platforms within the value stream and product. Create and maintain operationally focused ELK dashboards for the value stream and product. Define service level objectives, service level indicators, and service level agreements for the product and value stream with the product owner or product manager. Promote a risk-aware culture to ensure efficient and effective risk and compliance management practices by adhering to required standards and processes.
REQUIREMENTS: Bachelor’s degree or foreign equivalent in Computer Information Systems, Computer Engineering, Information Technology, or related and two (2) years of experience: building enterprise systems utilizing Virtual Machines, Enterprise Private Cloud, and Public Cloud platforms including Amazon Web Services (AWS); configuring application and infrastructure monitoring tools including AppDynamics, centralized event logging, and Netcool; creating middleware instances using Apache, configuring load balancing and authentication infrastructure using Siteminder Single Sign On, and performing certificate management; utilizing source code technologies, including Github, CI/CD build tools, including Jenkins, Ant, and Gradle, and utilizing Linux Server Platform and Oracle Database; performing change management and implementation of server infrastructure; and delivering multiple development, user acceptance testing, and production environments. In the alternative, the employer will accept three (3) years of academic study toward a Bachelor’s degree in the above-listed fields and two (2) years of experience in order to satisfy the degree requirement.
