What you'll do at Avant

• Work with product and engineering to develop the Ops Tech roadmap and contribute toward quarterly and yearly planning.
• Triage and plan upcoming work in an agile fashion.
• Hire your team while working with contractor firms to fill immediate People needs.
• Help your team through both engineering and people problems when they arise.
• Take pride in building a reliable and scalable product while working with great colleagues, tools, and frameworks.
• Ensure both your team and the technologies used continuously improve.
• Design and deliver high-quality, performant, and robustly tested APIs and systems.

Why you are a fit for Avant:

• 7+ years of experience developing high-scale backend and web applications, preferably React.
• 1+ years of experience as a Software Engineering Manager.
• Startup experience a plus.
• Ability to work through problems that won't necessarily have a clear solution.
• Know how to collaborate with your team across different timezones
• You enjoy working with other team members to solve problems.
• Competent in distributed systems, event-driven architecture, and high availability design.
• Take pride in building reliable and scalable products while working with great colleagues, tools, and frameworks.
