Primary Function:
As a Sr NetSuite Developer, using the NetSuite platform, you will play a critical role in automating, designing, enhancing and maintaining effective and scalable solutions across various departments. With the help of your excellent communication skills, you will work collaboratively to deliver solutions to a wide variety of stakeholders throughout the business. The Sr NetSuite Developer will be responsible for designing and implementing NetSuite scripts to add and improve upon functionality for projects. This role will report to Sr. Manager, NetSuite Operations.
What You'll Do:
- Design and implement technology solutions in NetSuite according to business and stakeholder requirements from various departments utilizing the latest NetSuite SuiteScript development standards.
- Interact closely with other development teams to provide the best overall technical solution.
- Ensure solutions are properly deployed and configured in NetSuite.
- Maintain health and wellbeing of the solution and resolve critical support issues as they occur.
- Provide support for NetSuite users and recommend solutions for optimizing the usability of the system.
- Evaluate, analyze, and optimize existing NetSuite integrations and customizations within the platform.
- Collaborate with NetSuite technical teams and 3rd-party vendors to guide problems to resolution.
- Monitor end-user usage of systems and track performance and ensure external integrations comply with governance limits.
- Create and maintain detailed documentation for customizations and other enhancements.
- Oversight of, and contribution to Jr Dev solutioning, design, and scripting.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's Degree in CS, CIS, MIS, OMIS or equivalent related experience.
- 4+ years' of direct NetSuite development experience.
- 6+ years' of overall software development experience
- 2+ years' supporting SaaS / Web Services products
- NetSuite Certified SuiteCloud Developer I or II (preferred).
- NetSuite Functional User or Administrator experience
- General knowledge of SuiteScript 1.0/2.0/2.1, SuiteTalk, SuiteBuilder, SuiteFlow, and SuiteBundler.
- General knowledge of the various script types used within NetSuite (Client Script, User Event Script, Map/Reduce, Scheduled Script, Custom Workflow Actions, Suitelets, RESTlets).
- Exposure to SuiteCloud Development Framework (SDF) and SuiteCloud IDE is a plus but not required.
- Understanding and/or Expertise in most, if not all of the following areas
- SuiteCloud Platform Development
- Javascript Fundamentals
- GIT version/source control Fundamentals
- Web Development Programming Concepts
- XML and Free Marker Fundamentals
- Object-Oriented Programming
- Event-Driven Programming Concepts
- T-SQL basic query structures
- Skilled in HTML, CSS, PHP and JSON programming languages.
- Experience in Atlassian application stack (JIRA, Confluence, BitBucket)
- Strong interpersonal, analytical, problem-solving, influencing, prioritization, decision-making and conflict resolution skills.
- Able to identify application bottlenecks and opportunities to optimize performance.
- An enjoyment of technical challenges and eagerness to explore new approaches.
- Agile Software Development
- Ability to effectively communicate technical issues and status to technical and non-technical audiences.
- An understanding of production environments, including the requirement for high availability and team oriented 24x7 support capabilities.
- A willingness to ask for help and the ability to communicate what you need to do your best work.
Other:
- Available during core business office hours, as required by team or partner meetings.
- Flexibility to travel on occasion to Chicagoland offices.
- If remote, reliable internet speeds effectively able to handle web based application usage and virtual a/v meeting tools
