The Opportunity

This position works out of our Chicago, IL downtown location in Willis Tower.

Abbott is seeking an Enterprise Architect with knowledge of Salesforce, Quote to Contract and Revenue management software as a service (SaaS) solution, Customer relationship management, Integrations, DevOps technology, and Cloud computing.

This is a delivery-focused leadership role that will be accountable for the overall implementation of the program on a global scale. You will be working with internal and external delivery and development teams to ensure the strategy is understood and delivered across programs and geographies. As an Enterprise Architect you will play a critical role in the delivery of best-in-class consumer experiences. You will provide thought leadership on business capabilities, operating models and solution design. Architectural responsibilities include Sales and Service Cloud including social, mobile, web including integration hub experience.

The role will require a strong leadership background with good communication skills while interacting with the business.

The candidate will require experience in supporting all aspects of information technology, in addition to Continuous Process Improvement, Application Development and Solution Delivery, Regulated Industry Implementations and Compliance

RESPONSIBILITIES

The candidate should have advanced-level expertise, with emphasis on global Healthcare, in the delivery of programs in the following areas:

  • Strong functional and architectural knowledge of Salesforce, Quote to Contract, Revenue Management and relevant integrated systems including web and mobile technologies.

  • Lead technical projects with a range of product teams to architect, build, design, and scale next-generation technology platforms.

  • Establishes and implement of contemporary solution architectures capable of meeting a continuously changing industry and market environment to support Abbott’s digital transformation.

  • Translating business requirements into specific systems, applications or process designs for very large complex IT solutions and integration architecture.

  • Partner with Business and IT leaders to drive digital business needs, use cases and requirements.

  • Provide leadership and hands-on technical direction to deliver world class customer experiences.

  • Be the technical expert, researching, evaluating, and implementing state-of-the-art technology platforms.

  • Influence and establish best engineering practices through solid design decisions, processes and tools.

  • Set goals, strategies, and oversee the deployment of large-scale projects across multiple technologies.

  • Establish and implement contemporary architectures capable of meeting a continuously changing industry and market environment to support Abbott’s digital transformation.

  • Technical leadership skills in driving architecture, Integration hubs, helping with technical trade-offs, and driving best practices.

  • Help and drive continuous technology and process improvements initiatives including governance of the technology platforms.

  • Provide technical leadership and mentoring of engineering teams, working closely with architects and business leaders.

  • Develop multi-year product roadmaps, provide the vision and work with individual architects to translate this into a tactical engineering blueprint.

  • Lead tool and technology selection. Drive standardization and reuse of industry leading technology across the organization.

  • Devise and establish IT policies and systems to support the implementation of strategies set by Abbott management.

  • Effectively balance and prioritize multiple projects concurrently.

  • Experience with the Agile software development methodology preferred

  • Assess the degree to which changes to scope, issues and risks will affect projects working with division or BTS stakeholders to gain agreement for resolution for a technical problem

  • Lead workshops to draw out requirements and create visual process flows and ensure proposed solutions are clearly articulated to the project team

  • Participate in pre-program (Phase 0) activities and provide demos/ proposals to our clients

  • Willing and able to travel domestically/ Internationally approximately 10% of the time for project needs.

  • Responsible for compliance with applicable Corporate and Divisional Policies and procedures

     

PREFERRED SKILLS & EXPERIENCE

  • Bachelor’s Degree/ Master’s Degree preferred.

  • Minimum 10 years of experience in architecting enterprise solution landscapes especially in Salesforce.com, web, mobile, and connected eco systems

  • Experience or familiarity with technologies and best practices in areas not limited to: Customer experience, CRM, marketing/sales automation, web content management, mobile solutions, social engagement preferred.

  • Excellent track record in delivering complex and cross functional programs.

  • A strong background in technical design / architecture

  • A solid understanding contemporary design patterns/practices including utilizing GenAI capabilities to drive business outcomes.

  • Prior experience developing or working with Cloud-based technologies such as Amazon Web Services, Microsoft Azure Cloud, Salesforce.com is highly desired.

  • Expert in design, development, and deployment of highly scalable APIs

  • Expertise with modern technology stacks, API strategies, microservices, public cloud and programming languages preferred.

The base pay for this position is

$127,300.00 – $254,700.00

In specific locations, the pay range may vary from the range posted.
