Bisnow is looking for a hungry, high-potential entry-level Sales Representative to join our Commercial Real Estate Advertising and Event Sales team. In this role, you’ll partner with clients across the CRE industry to help them promote, market, and grow their brands through one of the most dynamic B2B media platforms in the country — and in the room at 400+ live events a year.
This isn’t a dead-end entry role. There’s a clear path to Business Manager and a genuine culture of developing and promoting from within. If you’re ambitious and coachable, this is the kind of place where your first job becomes your career.
This is a hybrid role based in our Chicago office (24 East Washington St.), in-office 3–4 days a week. We welcome candidates coming straight out of college or bringing experience from internships, coursework, or early professional roles.
BISNOW OVERVIEW
Bisnow is the leading B2B media platform powering the commercial real estate industry. We connect CRE professionals through award-winning news, high-impact events, marketing solutions, recruiting services, and sales enablement tools that drive real business results.
With 1.7M+ subscribers and 400+ events annually across 47 markets in the U.S., Canada, the UK, Ireland, and the Netherlands, we don’t just cover the industry, we help move it forward.
We inform. We connect. We create opportunities that turn into deals. Global mindset. Hyper-local execution.
SUMMARY OF ROLE
As a BDR (Business Development Rep) you will be trained in all aspects of the products and solutions that we sell to the commercial real estate market. You will then work with the sales team to create new meetings, proposals and then contracts for clients. Your days will consist of training, taking meetings with clients, attending events to network and learn about our industry. Your goal as an BDR is to ultimately be promoted into a business manager. Once a business manager, you will begin to build your own book of business. If you want to learn how to be a successful business development executive and are willing to work hard and learn, this is a great opportunity for you.
Key Responsibilities
- Build and own relationships with marketing decision-makers across all asset classes and sectors in your target markets — this is a relationship-first role.
- Drive sponsorship sales for both digital and in-person events through sharp prospecting research, outreach, and follow-through from first contact to confirmed sponsor.
- Prospect new business daily to build a strong pipeline and develop into an expert at identifying and targeting the right people at the right companies.
- Connect with prospects through phone and email with confidence and creativity — and respond to every inbound lead like it matters, because it does.
- Partner with the event production team to shape sponsor-friendly programs that genuinely align with what our clients care about.
- Stay ahead of industry trends and bring fresh, relevant ideas to the table — the best people here think like journalists and sell like entrepreneurs.
- Know your numbers. Understand individual and team KPIs and show up every day with a plan to hit them — then push past them.
- Keep Salesforce updated and accurate — your pipeline is your business and your documentation reflects how seriously you take it.
- Work closely with a high-energy, cross-functional team to drive sponsorship, marketing, and event performance across the board.
What are we looking for?
- 0–1 years of sales or client-facing experience — internships, campus jobs, and side hustles count. We care about what you’ve done, not just where.
- Innate hustle, raw intelligence, and infectious enthusiasm — you’re the person who finds a way, not a reason. You make the room more energetic just by being in it.
- Entrepreneurial but disciplined — you think like an owner and execute like a professional. Creative enough to find new angles, organized enough to follow through.
- A fast learner who stays curious — we’re constantly bringing new digital and event products to market. You’ll need to understand them, believe in them, and sell them. If you love learning how things work, you’ll thrive here.
- A proven team player — athletics, clubs, Greek life, group projects, volunteer work — show us a moment where you elevated the people around you.
- Hungry to be client-facing — this role is your launchpad into an externally facing sales career. You should be excited about that, not just open to it.
- Genuinely curious about commercial real estate, media, and digital marketing — you don’t need to know the industry cold, but you should want to. Our best people become obsessed with the space they cover.
- Coachable above all else — you welcome feedback, act on it fast, and don’t take it personally. The best salespeople in this building got there because they listened.
- Built for a fast-paced environment — things move quickly here and priorities shift. You stay focused, adapt without drama, and bring energy on the hard days too.
What's in it for you?
- Competitive compensation structure
- Medical, Dental and Vision Insurance
- Short and Long Term Disability Insurance
- Maternity and paternity leaves
- 401K
- Flexible Spending Account
- Dependent Care Account
- Health Savings Account
- Unlimited Vacation Days
- 7 days paid sick leave
- 9 paid Holidays
- Referral Bonus Program
- You’ll get to work with incredibly smart, passionate, driven, ambitious, kind, caring and mindful people and will rarely experience an overload of policies, bureaucracy or toxicity (the latter, we do not tolerate).
