A game goes to overtime. A player gets scratched an hour before puck drop. An election result gets called at 2am. You’re the one who makes sure our markets reflect reality—accurately, on time, and within CFTC standards.
This is an operations role at the center of our predictive markets business. You’ll manage contracts from creation to settlement, monitor live events, research outcomes, and resolve disputes when things get complicated. You don’t need to be an engineer—but you need to think sharply, move fast, and care deeply about getting it right.
This role lives at the intersection of sports, markets, and operations. You’ll have real ownership from day one.
Responsibilities
- Provide expert-level support for the Production and Demo exchange environments, including contract creation and scheduling, end-of-day processing, and settlement of expired contracts
- Monitor live events and ensure markets settle accurately and on time in accordance with CFTC standards
- Verify outcomes using authoritative sources: official league stats, government releases, regulatory filings. If there’s an edge case, you anticipated it and wrote the rule for it.
- Assist with problem support and resolution; partner cross-functionally with trading, compliance, and technology teams
- Draft clear, unambiguous settlement language that accounts for postponements, cancellations, amended results, and anything else the world throws at you.
- Investigate and resolve settlement disputes under time pressure, maintaining a full audit trail that meets CFTC standards.
- Surface process gaps and work with the team to close them—this role has a direct line to how operations evolve.
Requirements
- Experience with databases, spreadsheets, and operational tools; SQL, Python, FIX, Linux, or job scheduling/monitoring software experience is a strong plus
- A sports fanatic with a feel for markets — you follow the storylines, know the leagues, and understand why the details matter
- Sharp under pressure — when a market is live and time is short, you move decisively
- A strong researcher — you find the authoritative source, not just the first result
- Clear and fast in your writing — settlement rationales, escalation summaries, and edge case documentation written well and quickly
- Knowledge or experience with options, futures, or prediction market products
- Comfortable working in a mission-critical operational environment with live production stakes
- Bachelor's degree in Economics, Mathematics, Computer Science, or a related field preferred
- Excellent troubleshooting and problem-solving skills; ability to partner across internal teams Schedule
- 1–3 years in sports betting operations, prediction markets, derivatives, or a related field.
- Familiarity with binary options, categorical markets, or other exchange-traded products.
- Experience with sports data platforms (Sportradar, Genius Sports) or political forecasting tools.
- Knowledge of CFTC regulations or exchange compliance basics.
Sports don’t follow business hours—and neither does this role. You’ll work rotational shifts covering evenings, weekends, and holidays, with weekday off-days provided in exchange. This is a remote role.
