Aetna is recruiting for a Head of Mental Well-being Strategy, Product and Engagement who is accountable for the development of an integrated business, product strategy and execution roadmap, and serves as a point of connection internally and externally to share strategic plans with key partners to activate market capabilities and drive engagement across the enterprise in support of customer and business needs. The Head of Strategy, Product & Engagement is a key player and leader in driving innovation and product priorities forward in collaboration with existing teams and subject matter experts.

You'll make an impact by:

  • Strategy Leadership

    • Driving the cross-functional ideation and formulation of the Mental Well-being business strategy, ensuring a cohesive roadmap is developed which is inclusive of the following areas: Clinical, Member Experience, Product and Digital. Upon development, leader will partner and engage across the enterprise to share the vision and strategic approaches to drive and monitor execution. 

    • Designing enterprise wide and/or cross-functional solutions to address business opportunities, resulting in long term plans that significantly impact company strategy, enabling CVS to be increasingly competitive in the market while effectively serving customers.

    • Partnering with business owners to optimize the achievement of strategic business objectives to include profitable growth, improved member outcomes and improved organizational effectiveness.

    • Acting as a strategic thought leader, providing guidance and recommendations to senior business leadership and cross-functional teams in support of strategic initiatives. Providing business expertise needed to translate vision into strategy, setting planning priorities and developing implementation approaches.

    • Coordinating the business response to strategy deliverables in conjunction with Chief of Strategy and strategic planning resources.

  • Mental Wellbeing Product, Digital and Innovation Initiatives

    • Accountability for the end-to-end development and management of business strategy, including market and financial/profitability analysis for specific products and overall offering.

    • Driving strategic direction, simplification and integration of product portfolio and framing the 3–5-year product strategy.

    • Ensuring business objectives are achieved by leading new/innovative product ideation or development of enhancements for prioritization and delivery to support the company’s strategy and value proposition.

    • Collaborating with commercial product areas to identify unique mental health benefits and offerings, leveraging Resources for Living (RFL) to address mental health and social determinants of health opportunities.

    • Supporting business development across CVS Health to create unique offerings that will improve the mental health of members and further the company brand.

    • Setting the vendor/external partner strategy with leading organizations who offer unique capabilities offerings focused on at risk populations and closing gaps in care for target populations.

    • Leadership of product pipeline development to address industry activity/trends through active participation on external industry groups/boards.

    • Engaging other business areas to align the introduction/institutionalization of effective cross-functional product development and management initiatives.

    • Partnering with performance management leads to measure product performance and assess results on ongoing basis (quantitative and qualitative).

    • Demonstrating comprehensive knowledge of digital products, including their development, market trends, and user experience principles.

    • Ensuring that digital product strategies are aligned with overall business goals and drive innovation in the digital space.

    • Developing a strategic roadmap and vision for the organization's digital products and services.

    • Directing processes that match user-centric design principles to ensure that digital products provide intuitive, seamless, and engaging user experiences.

  • Building a high performing team to deliver consistently high results meeting Supporting CVS Health in attracting, retaining, and engaging a diverse and inclusive consumer-centric workforce that delivers on our purpose and reflects the communities in which we work, live, and serve.

Required Qualifications

The candidate will have a strong work ethic, be a self-starter, and be able to be highly productive in a dynamic, collaborative environment. This position offers broad exposure to all aspects of the company’s business, as well as significant interaction with all the business leaders. The candidate will be expected to have the following key attributes:

  • 10-15 years of experience in healthcare, with focus on product development, business strategy or market activation/engagement.

  • Background within relevant functional areas including strategic business planning, product and project leadership, marketing and communications and related skill areas.

  • 7+ years of management experience of diverse team with track record of development talent, building high performing teams and driving accountability within direct and indirect reports or cross-functional teams.

  • Proven leadership experience setting strategic direction, managing complex programs and leading multidisciplinary teams in complex stakeholder environments to drive outcomes and deliverables from inception to completion.

  • Proven relationship management skills at senior levels within an organization and external constituents and ability to influence executive level stakeholders.

  • Demonstrated experience developing analysis, presentations and support material to successfully implement strategy or broad change initiatives. Data and results driven; ability to shape and harness qualitative and quantitative data and research to drive decision-making.

  • Strong analytical and written/oral communication skills, with speaking engagement experience to a variety of audiences of both clinical and non-clinical backgrounds.

  • Demonstrate a commitment to diversity, equity, and inclusion through continuous development, modeling inclusive behaviors, and proactively managing bias.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Clinical background within mental health field preferred.

  • Demonstrated understanding of technology to drive growth, resolve business problems/provide technical solutions.

Education

Bachelor’s Degree required; MBA, Master’s or doctoral degree preferred.

Pay Range

The typical pay range for this role is:

$131,500.00 - $303,195.00


This pay range represents the base hourly rate or base annual full-time salary for all positions in the job grade within which this position falls.  The actual base salary offer will depend on a variety of factors including experience, education, geography and other relevant factors.  This position is eligible for a CVS Health bonus, commission or short-term incentive program in addition to the base pay range listed above.  This position also includes an award target in the company’s equity award program.
