We’re looking for a strategic communications manager to join J.P. Morgan’s Commercial & Investment Bank (CIB) communications team supporting the Digital & Platform Services (D&PS) organization. D&PS’ mission is to accelerate transformation within the CIB by uniting Technology, Operations, Digital Innovation, AI and Data teams to create future-ready products and platforms.

As the Executive & Internal Communications Vice President, you will serve as a lead communicator for CIB Operations, develop and execute a comprehensive communications strategy, manage executive storytelling and narrative development, as well as support key initiatives such as employee engagement and recognition. You will be integrally involved in the development, execution and measurement of all communication channels and tactics including in-person town halls, site-visits, and offsites and multichannel content in the form of newsletters, email and digital media. You will collaborate across the D&PS and CIB Operations Communications teams to support cross-functional work. 

Key Responsibilities

  • Design and lead the end-to-end communications strategy for CIB Operations groups, ensuring alignment with business objectives and firmwide priorities
  • Advise senior leaders on communications strategy, messaging, and reputation management related to business initiatives.
  • Lead the planning and execution of executive employee engagement events including site visits, offsites, all hands calls, town halls, roundtables and fireside chats
  • Develop executive messaging, including talking points, briefs, org announcements, change management updates, business strategy & performance updates, etc
  • Develop compelling narratives and campaigns and disseminating via a multi-channel approach – editorials development, source, write and publish stories highlighting business achievements and recognizing the people behind them; newsletters, articles/stories, videos, digital signage, etc. 
  • Help tell and amplify CIB Operations stories via diverse channels including Microsoft Teams, Outlook, corporate intranet, video and live events as well as in coordination with Press and Marketing for external stakeholders
  • Support intranet management; oversee look, feel and navigation, and advise on content strategy
  • Measure and report on communications effectiveness, using insights to refine strategy and demonstrate value to the business.
  • Experience: Minimum of 7 years’ experience in corporate executive and internal communications, with a bachelor's degree in business, finance, economics, communications, journalism, or related fields. 
  • Executive engagement: Proven experience consulting directly with senior executives and subject matter experts; ability to coach leaders and prepare them for high-visibility moments.
  • Strategic communications: Proven ability to develop and implement cohesive and effective communication strategies that resonate with key audiences. Excellent writing and editing abilities and verbal communications skills. 
  • Storytelling expertise: Passion for storytelling, simplifying complex topics, and driving narratives that support business goals. 
  • Creativity: Desire to bring creativity and new ideas to communications projects and tactics. 
  • Project management: Excellent organizational skills, adept at managing multiple high-priority initiatives in a fast-paced environment. 
  • Attention to detail: Meticulous approach to ensuring accuracy and quality in all communications. 
  • Problem solving: Analytical and strategic mindset for addressing challenges and finding solutions. 
  • Adaptability: Internally motivated, empathetic and ready to embrace new opportunities and challenges with flexibility. 
  • Relationship building: Outstanding judgment and interpersonal skills, including partnering effectively with executives, peers and other functional groups across the company
  • Industry knowledge: In-depth understanding of the financial services industry is a bonus. 
  • Risk management: Unwavering commitment and diligence in managing risk and protecting and enhancing the reputation of our firm. 
  • Character & style: High level of independence, energy and integrity, demonstrating respect for a diversity of opinions and styles, and taking accountability / accepting responsibility
  • Understanding of the financial services industry
  • Experience working in a large, matrixed organization
  • Design software experience (e.g., Adobe Creative Suite/InDesign) 
  • Website management and multimedia experience (e.g., video development)
