Job Description
The Executive Recruiting Expert leads and executes high impact executive search assignments that shape Allstate’s leadership bench and long term talent strategy. This role operates as a trusted advisor to senior leaders, bringing deep expertise in officer level recruiting, market intelligence, and leadership assessment. The Executive Recruiting Expert independently manages complex searches (primarily Director and Officer), demonstrating the executive presence, judgment, and strategic mindset required to influence talent decisions at the highest levels. They act as versatile utility players, able to flex across business areas based on organizational needs. They serve as mentors to junior recruiters and contribute to elevating the overall capability, quality, and consistency of the Talent Acquisition team.This role plays a critical part in advancing Allstate’s internal officer recruiting capability—elevating processes, strengthening team performance, and enhancing the company’s executive employment brand. The Executive Recruiting Expert builds and sustains strong networks of passive leadership talent, serving as an ambassador for Allstate in the external marketplace. They are the primary relationship manager for multiple business clients, ensuring alignment, clarity, and a high end experience for candidates and stakeholders.
This position requires candidates to be located in the Chicago, IL metro area. The role follows a hybrid schedule, with time spent in one of our local Chicago on a recurring basis.
Key Responsibilities
- Design and execute forward‑looking hiring strategies that anticipate business needs, align with enterprise priorities, and strengthen Allstate’s long‑term leadership bench.
- Deliver high‑caliber, full life cycle officer‑level recruiting with emphasis on proactive talent identification, differentiated sourcing strategies, and deep market intelligence; consistently elevating hiring quality and rigor.
- Synthesize candidate insights and market data into clear, strategic recommendations that guide senior leaders toward high‑impact hiring decisions.
- Advance our enterprise‑leader strategy by intentionally identifying and proposing high‑potential, non‑traditional internal candidates for critical roles.
- Build trusted, strategic partnerships with internal clients, HR Partners and senior leaders, providing executive‑level consulting and influencing talent decisions across the enterprise.
- Maintain operational excellence through rigorous data hygiene, accurate reporting, and disciplined use of recruiting systems, tools, and processes.
- Continuously identify opportunities to enhance processes, tools, and frameworks that strengthen the effectiveness, scalability, and consistency of executive hiring.
- Cultivate and maintain deep networks of passive leadership talent, positioning Allstate as an employer of choice for executive‑level candidates.
- Ensure a high‑touch, high‑credibility candidate experience that reflects Allstate’s values, leadership expectations, and employer brand.

- Exceptional written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to convey complex information succinctly and credibly.
- Skilled at crafting compelling narratives for candidate presentations and search updates.
Operational Discipline
- Strong project management skills with the ability to drive accountability, maintain accurate reporting, and ensure process consistency.
- Comfort with data, dashboards, and metrics to guide prioritization and performance.
Required
- 8+ years of progressive experience in executive recruiting, retained search, or senior‑level talent acquisition.
- Proven track record of independently managing VP‑level and above searches across multiple functions.
- Experience advising and influencing senior leaders in complex, matrixed environments.
- Demonstrated success building and maintaining diverse leadership pipelines.
- High technology and AI fluency within recruiting systems and tools.
- Experience managing confidential, sensitive, and high‑stakes executive search processes.
Preferred
- Experience in industries with complex talent markets (e.g., insurance, financial services, technology, healthcare).
- Prior experience in an internal executive recruiting function or hybrid in‑house/retained search model.
- Familiarity with leadership assessment tools, frameworks, or psychometrics.
- Experience contributing to the development of internal executive recruiting capabilities, processes, or frameworks
- This job does not have supervisory duties.

Compensation
Compensation offered for this role is 98,100.00 - 167,850.00 annually and is based on experience and qualifications.The candidate(s) offered this position will be required to submit to a background investigation.
