About the Role

As an Expediter at Atlas Tube a division of Zekelman Industries, Chicago, IL, you will play a key role in supporting warehouse and shipping operations by coordinating material movement and assisting with the efficient loading of customer orders. This role is ideal for someone who thrives in a fast-paced warehouse environment, communicates effectively with team members, and takes pride in maintaining organized and efficient operations.

What You’ll Do

  • Assist crane operators with truck loading by performing setup activities and operational checks.

  • Perform visual inspections of materials prior to shipment to ensure quality and accuracy.

  • Support warehouse operations by understanding inventory flow, stocking procedures, and shipping requirements.

  • Utilize basic computer systems and warehouse management software to support daily warehouse activities.

  • Maintain clean, safe, and organized work areas in accordance with company policies.

  • Assist with material handling activities including lifting, moving, and staging materials.

  • Support operational efficiency by communicating effectively with team members and supervisors.

  • Follow all safety policies and regulatory requirements while performing job duties.

  • Perform additional duties as assigned to support warehouse operations.

  • Maintain regular, full-time, predictable onsite attendance as required.

Who You Are

  • Associate degree preferred; military service considered equivalent to a two-year degree.

  • Minimum of 2 years of experience in a manufacturing or warehouse environment.

  • Experience working with warehouse management systems such as SAP preferred.

  • Ability to follow written and verbal instructions and perform basic computer functions.

  • Strong communication, teamwork, and interpersonal skills.

  • Strong attention to detail with the ability to read measuring devices and equipment.

  • Basic math skills and the ability to safely lift up to 50 pounds.

Physical Abilities

  • Ability to stand and walk for extended periods of 8–12 hours per shift.

  • Ability to lift, climb, bend, stoop, push, and pull materials up to 50 pounds.

  • Ability to use hands, handle materials, and reach with arms regularly throughout the shift.

  • Work performed in a manufacturing environment with exposure to moving mechanical parts, airborne particles, and moderate to loud noise levels.

  • Occasional exposure to wet or humid conditions.

Base Hourly Range:
