Accountant - Zoro
Company Overview
In the past seven years, Zoro has grown from a group of 6 people working out of a 2,000 square foot building, offering fewer than 100,000 products to a group of 250+ working out of a 60,000+ square foot building, offering more than 2,000,000 unique products.
Position Description
- In collaboration with other team members, complete monthly close process in a timely fashion, including journal entries, accruals, creating financials, etc.
- Collectively perform timely reconciliations, providing support for reconciliations, and resolving all unidentified variances
- This position will be responsible for Zoro's accounts payable, ensuring vendors are setup and paid timely, reconciling all outstanding accounts payable balances
- This position will work closely with finance department to ensure vendors cost centers and purchase order amounts align with budget and forecasts
- Prepare analysis of monthly financial statement and account reconciliations
- Assist in creating monthly reporting package, and quarterly/yearly tax packages
- Assist with internal and external audits, compiling data and answering auditors questions
- Identifies and drives improvement opportunities for accounting and works closely with other departments to ensure accounting standards are followed
- Ensure proper internal controls over the accounting and financial reporting processes
Position Requirements:
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting; CPA preferred
- 1-2 years of experience in a small, fast-paced accounting team
- Strong knowledge of MS Excel, including pivot tables and v-lookups
- Desire to seek out and implement process improvements to drive team's efficiency
- Ability to multitask and deliver on a high volume of projects in a fast-paced environment
- Strong written and verbal communication skills; comfortable interacting and building relationships with employees
- Upbeat personality with a real thirst for learning
- NetSuite experience a plus, not required
