Job Description

Responsible for supporting corporate strategy formation and managing business development activities across Discover. Responsible for leading highly complex strategic initiatives and projects in collaboration with business and functional leadership across the enterprise.

Responsibilities

Leads projects in support of key strategy initiatives. Develops and delivers presentations for executive management.
Manages business development transactions working with business partners and external advisors. Leads evaluation of deal economics and structure, and coordinates due diligence activities.
Monitors and communicates market and competitive developments in financial services and payments industries, and maintains a landscape of business development opportunities.
Builds and fosters strong relationships with business and functional co-workers.

Minimum Qualifications

At a minimum, here’s what we need from you:

Master's Degree in Business or Finance
8+ years of experience in management consulting, investment banking, corporate strategy and development, including people management

Preferred Qualifications

There’s never a dull moment

Melissa Douros’ design team stays booked and busy. After recently completing a brand overhaul, they are creating a unified digital design language across the organization. As part of these efforts, they launched a new mobile app and got to see its impact firsthand. “It’s rare to see reactions to our visuals, but we did extensive user research and roadshows. There is a smile on people’s faces, a connection being made — that is what we are striving for every day.” Up next, the team will be “eliminating cold handoffs” to ensure every customer interaction is a warm experience.

This team pushes themselves and each other to try new things as we work to deliver the best for our customers.
