The Opportunity: As a Financial Analyst with Vivid Seats you will have the unique opportunity to incorporate your passion for live sports & entertainment with your career in financial planning and analysis. Reporting to the Sr. Financial Manager, you will be an integral player on an agile finance team with direct exposure to senior business team leaders. You will be responsible for delivering essential financial reporting and analysis of the company's performance allowing management to make timely and critical business decisions directly impacting the future success of Vivid Seats.
How your role contributes to the success of Vivid Seats:
- Participate in the preparation of annual budgets, quarterly forecasts and long-range plans that will grant stakeholders a keen insight into how the business is expecting to perform in the near and long-term future
- Partner with select Sr. Business Leaders fully owning all aspects of their departmental operating budgets including actuals reporting, forecasting, and other strategic and ad-hoc analysis
- Assist with the preparation and completion of weekly, monthly, quarterly and yearly financial reporting including management reporting packages, presentations to our Board of Directors and external communications to members of the broader financial community
- Serve as a power user for our planning system (Oracle Planning and Budgeting Cloud Service) and assist with dimension maintenance, transferring of our monthly GL data, and the loading of key statistical driver data points
- Collaborate with leaders across the organization, working cross functionally to support the business's financial objectives
How your role expectations will progress as a Financial Analyst in the first 30, 90, and 180 days:
30 days in
- Complete new hire orientation, gaining the resources you need to be successful
- Learn how ticket marketplaces operate and how you'll contribute to providing great experiences for our customers
- Acclimate to team and company norms, business objectives, and Vivid Seats values
- Obtain access to and become familiar with the various financial systems that are utilized in the department
- Establish relationships with the Sr. Business Leaders you will be supporting and start to understand their lines of business and set overall expectations
90 days in
- Contribute to our approaches, methods, or technologies to support overall business goals and drive team efficiencies
- Maintain, harvest and aid internal and external relationships to achieve progress and advance objectives
- Gain a fundamental understanding of the economics behind our various business and revenue models
- Own populating the numbers included within our financial reporting and know where to go and what systems need to be utilized to do so
180 days in
- Apply methods to execute individual tasks that positively impacts the team
- Play an active role in continued learnings to advance skill sets necessary for team goals
- Assume full responsibility of our financial reporting procedures including pulling together the numbers to populate presentations and providing thoughtful analysis and commentary to explain variances
- Effectively lead financial meeting touch bases with business partners prepared to discuss historical trends and offer suggestions for financial projections
- Act as a trusted member of the financial team who is available, approachable, knowledgeable and helpful but also analytical, critical and inquisitive
What You'll Bring:
- Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting or related field
- Understanding of basic accounting principles: debits/credits, accruals vs. pre-paid, financial statements
- Working knowledge of Excel with a high aptitude for learning new formulas and skills along the way
- Attention to detail and commitment to accuracy
- Ability to identify opportunities for process improvements
- A high level of maturity to be trusted with confidential financial information
