What we are looking for:
We are searching for a bright, high-energy Senior Accountant to join and grow with the team! Problem-solvers, self-directors and bold thinkers are required. You are expected to quickly learn the technologies, strategies, and analytical techniques that will enable you to drive the continued success of the Accounting Team.
What You'll Do:
- Take ownership of the accuracy and completeness of day-to-day accounting and month- end close tasks for all entities.
- Assist with the new accounting system implementation and transition.
- Prepare bank and general ledger account reconciliations.
- Review and analyze general ledger transactions and accounts, using technical judgment to ensure that financial transactions are properly recorded.
- Update accounting processes and procedures while making best use of automation tools.
- Drive continuous improvement and standardization within the functional area.
- Assist internal and external auditors in the timely resolution of audit requests and questions.
- Perform other related duties or ad hoc projects within the scope of responsibilities.
Skills/Qualifications
- 3-5 years progressive accounting experience. Start-up/FinTech experience is a strong plus.
- Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting or equivalent experience required; Big 4 or other top-tier accounting firm experience a strong plus.
- Strong knowledge of U.S. GAAP and Sarbanes-Oxley.
- Demonstrated ability to conceptualize complex business issues and prepare relevant analysis.
- Know your way around Excel.
- Ability to take initiative, work autonomously and handle multiple demands from multiple people.
- Keen attention to detail, ability to identify and solve issues before they escalate.
- Strong operational focus and aim to improve processes and find value added solutions.
- Ability to prioritize effectively in a high-paced, fast-changing, and unstructured work environment.
- Ability to communicate effectively and professionally to all cross-functional teams.
- NetSuite/Intaact experience preferred.
