Strategic Pricing Manager, Zoro

Primary Function:
The Manager of Pricing helps in the development and execution of the businesses go-to-market pricing and discount strategies. The successful candidate must create and deliver a pricing strategy that is informed by the market and Zoro’s business strategy. This position would be responsible for working with specific business units on key initiatives, providing pricing and strategic insights. The role will work cross functionally with Finance/ Analytics/ Marketing, Merchandising and Ecommerce teams to find efficiencies, and identify risks and opportunities.
Duties and Responsibilities:
- Develop & Maintain complex models used to predict the impact of pricing actions both on the reg pricing and promo pricing.
- Maintain, update and refine pricing elasticities and promotional elasticities at a categorical, brand and product level where possible.
- Identify optimal prices by product based on the best possible return in sales/margin.
- Help with creation and maintenance of product segments - positioning products towards customer acquisitions and profitability.
- Leads the on-going evolution of Zoro’s pricing and discount strategies and ensures that there are scalable tools processes to efficiently execute this strategy.
- Builds a culture of continuous improvement that is engaged in ongoing testing to deliver the most relevant pricing strategy.
- Perform financial analysis of anticipated pricing actions for various scenarios.
- Work on cross-functional teams to understand changes in Zoro’s competitive market.
- Drives margin stability or improvement while supporting aggressive growth in the Zoro customer base. Understands the evolving emphasis between these objectives and focuses pricing activities accordingly.
- Use strong communication skills to present findings and build support for pricing initiatives.
Qualifications:
- 4-8 years of experience in related field.
- Proven experience in developing and executing pricing strategies, preferably in an eCommerce environment with large SKU assortments.
- Strong business acumen that informs and grounds the leaders thinking in strategy development.
- Excellent communication skills. Ability to determine the appropriate amount of detail gained in research in order to present findings in a thoughtful and concise manner.
- Ability to communicate, with impact, to a variety of audiences with varying degrees of domain expertise.
- Exceptional financial and analytical skills with the ability to analyse opportunities with significant trade-offs and make confident recommendations.
- Strong decision making and problem-solving skills.
- Bachelor’s Degree required; MA/MS/MBA preferred.
