This position is required to work on-site in our Chicagoland (Glenview, IL) office most days. Everyone receives 3 flexible remote days per month. And, we offer half-day Fridays – every Friday!

Key Responsibilities:

  • Third Party Administrator (TPA) accounting – responsible for the direct and reinsurance accounting and reporting for multiple TPA’s across several lines of business.
  • Treaty/contract review - ensure all accounting and regulatory items are correctly implemented and followed with various reinsurance treaties.
  • Mortgage Investment Accounting – record entries, prepare financial reports, and settle activity for all mortgage investments.
  • Ability to lead cross-functional initiatives and process improvements, including system enhancements and automation.
  • Record journal entries and reconcile general ledger accounts.
  • Perform financial statement analysis as part of the monthly close. 
  • Preparation and analysis of schedules for Annual/Quarterly Statements and audits.
  • Partner and collaborate with other departments (IT, Actuarial, Legal).
  • Special projects as assigned.
Qualifications

Education and Skills:

  • Bachelor’s degree required, Accounting or Finance major preferred.
  • 2-3 years of insurance accounting experience.
  • Strong Microsoft skills – Word, Excel, Access.
  • Experience with ERP systems for accounting – PeopleSoft experience a plus.

The pay range for this role is $53,000 - $80,000. The pay range provided is not a guarantee of compensation. The range reflects potential pay for the job grade for this role at the time of this posting. Compensation will depend on several factors such as specific competencies, relevant education and experience, qualifications, and industry certifications. Compensation ranges are subject to change and may be higher or lower than the range described above.
