BASIC PURPOSE
The Financial Controls Manager, Technology will lead financial governance and strategic oversight of high-impact savings initiatives across the Technology Function. This role is responsible for ensuring fiscal discipline, driving cost optimization, and enabling data-driven decision-making in partnership with Technology, Tech Finance, and Executive Leadership.

Flexible Work Policy: The Financial Controls Manager position has been segmented as Hybrid, meaning the work is a combination of onsite (3 days per week) and virtual (2 days per week). This position is based out of our corporate headquarters in Rosemont IL .

RESPONSIBILITIES  

  • Lead annual budgeting processes, including scenario modeling and savings target alignment.

  • Lead financial planning, forecasting, and budgeting for key savings initiatives across the Technology portfolio.

  • Develop and maintain robust financial models to assess cost-saving opportunities and ROI.

  • Define and implement value capture methodologies and metrics to quantify and validate savings across initiatives.

  • Track and report on savings targets, actuals, and variances; provide actionable insights to senior stakeholders.

  • Meet regularly with initiative owners and budget holders to help them understand their savings targets, actual performance, and opportunities for improvement.

  • Establish KPIs and dashboards to monitor initiative progress and financial impact.

  • Collaborate with Technology leaders to align financial goals with operational strategies.

  • Provide financial guidance on vendor negotiations, outsourcing decisions, and technology investments.

  • Ensure compliance with internal financial policies and external regulatory requirements.

  • Strengthen financial controls and risk management practices across savings programs.

  • Lead interpretation of complex financial reports and statistical analysis as well as development of recommendations.

  • Support change management efforts by translating financial impacts into clear business narratives.

  • Contribute to cross-functional transformation programs, ensuring financial alignment and accountability.

  • Continuously improve financial processes, tools, and templates to enhance transparency, efficiency, and decision support.

  • Facilitate regular financial reviews with Program Leadership.

  • N/A

RELATIONSHIPS

  • Internal: EVP - CIDO, ITLT - Multiple SVPs, VPs, Sr. Dirs, Dirs, Corporate FP&A, Controller’s Team, HR, and one Direct Report

  • External: Software vendors, implementation partners, consultants, and staff augmentation firm

WORK ENVIRONMENT

  • Hybrid: This role is partially remote, and the associate is expected to perform assigned responsibilities from a combined home-based and office-based environment.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

  • 7 years finance/accounting experience

  • Excellent communications and presentation skills to influence all levels of leadership

  • Strong analytical and leadership capability 

  • Skilled with handling large datasets and financial modeling

  • Strong ability to work with both business and technology stakeholders

  • Excellent time management and project management skills

  • Attention to accuracy and execution

  • Demonstrated strong analytical, process mindset, problem solving, and data acumen

  • Demonstrated ability to manage competing priorities and stakeholders

  • < 5% travel may be required

EDUCATION

  • BA/BS in Accounting or Finance

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

  • Experience setting up finance processes in a dynamic environment

  • Advanced capabilities in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, PowerPoint)

  • Ability to thrive in a rapidly changing environment

This role will also receive annual incentive plan bonus.

Compensation depends on relevant experience and/or education, specific skills, function, geographic location, and other factors as applicable by law (for example: state minimum wage thresholds).  The expected base rate for this role is between

$85,000 - $145,000
