About Ode with Anthropic

How do you turn a decades-old dataset into an industry-leading medical coding agent? Teach an AI receptionist to book appointments in Spanish? Automatically generate working data connectors from API docs? Build agents that write, test, and deploy their own software packages?

Anthropic is defining frontier AI. Ode is the team bringing frontier AI into practice.

We are a team of experienced builders who care deeply about getting complex AI systems into production, with strong conviction about what makes them succeed. As Anthropic’s services venture, we tackle the hardest, most consequential AI problems for companies with real stakes, working closely with their Applied AI and Product teams to turn frontier technology into real world impact.

We're backed by Anthropic, Blackstone, Hellman & Friedman, Goldman Sachs, General Atlantic, Leonard Green & Partners, Apollo Global Management, GIC, and Sequoia Capital.

We're headquartered in SF with offices in NYC, Raleigh-Durham, and Dubai.

The Role

You'll be Ode's first Forward Deployed Product Manager dedicated only to Financial Services, and the person who turns this work into a true product vertical focused in the space.

On day one, you'll own client engagements end-to-end: part product manager, part engagement lead, part delivery owner, part operator who fills whatever gap keeps the work moving. You'll sit with senior executives, credit officers, portfolio managers, controllers and compliance teams, figure out where AI can change how their work gets done, and ship it into production.

What makes this role different is your focused area of expertise. You'll spot the patterns across banks, asset managers and finance teams, turn them into reusable playbooks and solution patterns, and shape how Ode sells, scopes and delivers in the space. As the vertical grows, you'll help hire the FDPMs who come after you, and this role has a clear path to building the Financial Services product team.

What You'll Do

Lead FS engagements end to end
  • Own the client relationship. Be the primary Ode partner to FS clients, from business-line leaders to risk, compliance and IT. Build trust by being direct about tradeoffs, timelines and what AI can and can't do yet.

  • Shape what we build. Turn ambiguous goals into clear problem statements, user workflows and success metrics. Think underwriting memos, KYC/AML, investment research, portfolio reporting, month-end close, reconciliations and FP&A.

  • Turn messy needs into shipped products. Write crisp specs and plans for engineers, design workflows and evaluation criteria for AI systems, and decide where agents act on their own and where a human reviews.

  • Ship in a regulated environment. Navigate model risk management, data governance, security reviews, audit trails and vendor risk processes so good work actually gets to production instead of stalling in review.

  • Drive adoption and lasting outcomes. Partner with client teams on rollout, training and change management, and measure impact in the terms leaders care about most.

Build the Financial Services vertical

  • Turn engagements into repeatable patterns. Spot what's common or not across clients. Turn repeatable patterns into playbooks, solution patterns, evals and reference architectures that make every next project faster and better.

  • Generate demand, not just respond to it. Partner with leadership and go-to-market on discovery conversations, scoping and proposals. Bring a point of view on where AI creates the most value in banking, lending, asset and wealth management, and the CFO office.

  • Be Ode's FS product expert. Coach other FDPMs and engineers on FS workflows, regulation and buyer dynamics.

  • Help build the team. Shape the FS FDPM hiring profile, interview candidates and onboard the PMs who join the vertical after you.

What You Bring
  • Deep financial services experience. You've built products for, or worked inside, banks, lenders, asset or wealth managers, fintechs or a CFO organization. That could be as a product manager, consultant or operator. You know how these institutions make decisions, how their workflows run and what makes them say no.

  • A real product and delivery track record. Typically 6–8+ years across product, consulting, implementation or operations, including shipping multiple products with engineers and designers over many cycles. Demonstrated ability matters more than titles.

  • High-stakes client leadership. You've led work where clients were under pressure, stakeholders disagreed and the answer wasn't obvious. You can push back, reframe the problem and hold the quality bar, with a senior executive in the room.

  • Comfort with regulated environments. You've shipped through model risk, compliance, security and procurement, and you know how to bring those teams along early instead of fighting them late.

  • Technical fluency. You understand how LLM-based systems work, can reason about engineering and architecture tradeoffs, and can define what "good" looks like through evals and acceptance criteria. Getting hands-on with SQL or quick prototypes is a plus.

  • Structured thinking and clear communication. You ask sharp questions, bring order to chaos and move easily from a whiteboard session with a CFO to a crisp spec for engineers.

  • Builder mindset. You've created something beyond your own projects: a playbook, a practice, a new offering or a team. You want to build a vertical, not just run accounts.

  • Ownership and comfort with ambiguity. You thrive on "we've never done this before" problems, juggle multiple engagements and make sound calls with incomplete information.

  • Team first. You raise the bar for the people around you, share what you learn and care about the team winning.

Nice to Have
  • A finance foundation: banking, credit, investment research, corporate finance, accounting or FP&A

  • Experience shipping AI or automation into document-heavy, high-stakes workflows such as underwriting, KYC/AML, research or close

  • Forward-deployed, solutions or consulting experience with named-account accountability

  • An existing network across FS buyers and practitioners

  • Experience mentoring or managing PMs, or standing up a new practice

Why This Role, Why Now

Financial services is one of the industries where frontier AI can change the most, and where getting it right is hardest. Ode is already doing this work with FS clients, including Fortune 100 banks and publicly traded asset managers, and we're ready for someone to own the vertical.

You'll get the autonomy of a founding role with the backing of Anthropic and the frontier models it builds. At Ode, PMs typically ship two to three products a year and learn from dozens more, so you'll build an AI product muscle that's hard to develop anywhere else. Many of our PMs call this their highest-growth period. The pace isn't for everyone, and you'll meet the team during the interview process so you can decide for yourself.
