About BoltWise

BoltWise envisions revolutionizing the distribution and supply chain domain, with a special emphasis on the fasteners industry. Every year, the US utilizes over 200 billion fasteners – essential components in manufacturing, aircraft, automobiles, and virtually all modern infrastructures. With more SKUs than the rest of the industrial distribution combined, the fasteners industry presents a multi-billion dollar market ripe for innovation.

We're in the midst of developing an AI-driven supply chain platform designed to simplify workflows and deliver unparalleled insights, setting our clients miles ahead of the curve. With our founders' expertise from roles at McKinsey & Company, Uber, Docker, and Twitter, and a $1 million pre-seed funding in our pocket, we're assembling our core engineering team.

The opportunity

As a pivotal member of our nascent engineering team, you'll:

  • Work closely with the CEO and CTO to bring products from 0 to 1
  • Have the autonomy to steer key architectural decisions and institute engineering best practices.
  • Dive into exciting greenfield initiatives: from crafting intuitive UIs for customer facing products and internal tools to facilitate human-in-the-loop AI, to developing scalable backend systems and state-of-the-art machine learning models
  • Shape our company values and define our engineering culture
  • Immerse in company-building insights. We are committed to being transparent on fundraising, market strategies, and product evolution. Ideal for those aspiring to start their own companies.

Requirements

  • Ownership & Drive: Take full responsibility for project deliverables, demonstrate initiative, and proactively solve challenges.
  • Technical Mastery: 4+ years of deep experience with React, NextJS, Typescript, or 5+ years of overall frontend development.
  • Problem-Solving: Navigate engineering tradeoffs effectively, balancing speed with quality.
  • Education: Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or related fields, or equivalent hands-on experience in a software development role.
  • Design Insight: Ability to interpret product discussions, identify UI/UX needs, and create initial mock-ups or wireframes.

Bonus

  • Proficiency with Material UI and experience with Jotai or Recoil.js.
  • Experience in crafting UX designs using Figma.
  • Experience in integrating and maintaining CRUD API endpoints. Familiarity with Postgres, Redis, tRPC, Vercel, and Azure.
  • Prior roles as a tech lead and experience in the fast-paced startup environment.

Benefits

  • Flexibility: Fully remote within the US
  • Competitive compensation: $120,000 - $200,000 with a generous equity package of 0.25% - 1%
  • Healthcare: Employer covers 99% of medical, vision, and dental insurance. Partial coverage for dependents.
  • Time-off: Unlimited PTO
