The Opportunity

We're building a talent pipeline for our first engineering hires. This is an expression of interest for a future Founding Engineer role—when we're ready to expand, we'll reach out to candidates who've registered interest.

As a founding engineer, you'll help build the core product from the ground up and shape the technical direction of the company.

Responsibilities

  • Build and ship features across the full stack (React, TypeScript, Node.js, Python)
  • Develop and refine our RAG architecture—document processing, embedding pipelines, and retrieval optimisation
  • Work closely with founders on product strategy and technical decisions
  • Deploy and maintain infrastructure (Vercel, Supabase, cloud services)
  • Establish engineering best practices and set the technical culture

Requirements

  • Solid experience with modern web development (TypeScript, React, Node.js)
  • Python experience and familiarity with AI/ML concepts
  • Interest in document AI, embeddings, vector search, and LLM applications
  • Self-directed and comfortable with the ambiguity of early-stage startups
  • Strong communication skills for a remote-first environment

Nice to Have

  • Experience with RAG systems or vector databases
  • Background in document parsing/processing
  • Previous startup or founding experience

Compensation & Location

  • Equity + competitive salary (to be discussed)
  • Remote, UK timezone preferred
