Function: Product Manager for SDSC

Location: Hybrid - (Remote considered case by case)

Position Overview:

Surgical Data Science Collective (SDSC) is seeking a Product Manager to lead the development and growth of our AI-driven surgical data products. In this role, you will define product features, convert clinical and research into clear tools, and work cross-functionally with our teams to bring impactful surgical intelligence tools to life. You will play a central role in shaping how surgical video data is transformed into actionable insights that improve outcomes, efficiency, and education across the global surgical community.

This position is ideal for a professional with experience in product management,

health tech data-driven software development. The ideal candidate combines a strong

technical understanding (e.g., data science, computer vision, or analytics platforms) with a deep curiosity about the healthcare and research ecosystem. You should be highly organized, thrive in a fast-paced environment, and excel at turning complex problems into clear, measurable deliverables.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Define and own the product roadmap for SDSC’s surgical video analytics and data science tools across multiple domains (computer vision models, SVP features, admin console) .

  • Translate user needs and research objectives into technical requirements and prioritized

    product milestones.

  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure timely and high-quality product delivery.

  • Manage product lifecycle from ideation and prototype to validation and deployment.

  • Gather and synthesize feedback from our users to continuously refine products.

  • Establish metrics to measure product success and adoption across partner institutions.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in engineering, computer science, biomedical sciences, or a related field; advanced degree or product management certification a plus.

  • +5 years of product management experience, ideally in health tech, medical AI, or data-driven platforms.

  • Proven track record leading products from concept to launch, preferably within regulated or clinical environments.

  • Strong technical fluency — able to collaborate effectively with engineers and data scientists, and translate complex clinical or research needs into clear product requirements.

  • Strategic and analytical thinker with experience defining roadmaps, KPIs, and product success metrics.

  • Excellent communicator skilled at managing cross-functional stakeholders across technical, research, and clinical domains.

  • Comfortable operating in a fast-moving, distributed, and mission-driven environment.
