As a Finance Manager, you will serve as a business partner to the Digital and Technology leadership, ensuring adherence to the annual budgeting and quarterly forecasting processes. Your primary responsibility will be coaching and leading an analyst team, guiding them through various processes including budgeting, forecasting, and month end actuals reporting. You will provide senior management with financial insights and recommendations that drive strategic decisions, financial performance, and operational efficiency within the digital and technology landscape.
How you'll make an impact
Financial Planning & Analysis:
Lead the preparation and analysis of annual budgets, quarterly forecasts, and budget proposals specifically for digital products, technology projects, and infrastructure investments. Ensure alignment with company objectives with minimal supervision.
Review and analyze cost drivers related to software development, cloud computing, data centers, and other technology expenses to ensure accurate forecasting and effective budget management.
Develop and track key performance indicators (KPIs) relevant to technology and digital capacity, aligning on desired resource ratios across the teams.
Business Partnering & Reporting:
Partner with the Digital and Technology leadership team to provide financial reporting, forecasts, and ad-hoc analysis focused on digital product performance, technology investments, and related initiatives.
Ensure timely and accurate delivery of financial reports, offering key insights and context to drive business decisions related to digital strategy and technology roadmap.
Cross-functional Collaboration:
Work closely with Corporate Accounting and other key departments to analyze monthly financial results and support a smooth and accurate financial close process, with a focus on how these functions impact digital and tech P&Ls
Support Corporate FP&A as part of overall Wex consolidation and address Risk and Opps associated with Digital and Technology financials.
Partner with leadership across finance, engineering, product, and IT teams to identify financial risks and opportunities, providing actionable recommendations to mitigate risks and optimize investments in digital and technology.
Strategic Financial Insights:
Prepare budget presentations for Senior Management and Leadership teams. Offer clear insights and strategic messaging specifically related to digital and technology performance and strategy.
Support quarterly earnings communication, preparing financial data and insights for the Corporate FP&A, with a focus on the impact of digital and technology on overall financial results.
Process Improvement & Initiatives:
Identify opportunities for process improvements in financial reporting, budgeting, and forecasting related to digital and technology, including automation of reporting and analysis.
Drive the implementation of initiatives that enhance finance operations and overall business performance within the digital and technology space.
Lead and contribute to financial projects, including investment appraisals for technology projects (e.g., software implementation, infrastructure upgrades), and other financial analyses specific to the digital and technology domain.
Ad-hoc Financial Analysis & Reporting:
Assist and oversee creating periodic financial reports and analyses for the management team, specifically related to digital and technology performance.
Prepare and present recommendations to address internal financial issues or alternatives for improved performance in the digital and technology areas.
Experience you'll bring
Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field. MBA is preferred.
5+ years of progressive experience in Financial Planning & Analysis (FP&A), strategic finance, or a related role.
Demonstrated experience in managing budgets, forecasting, and long-term financial planning, preferably within a technology-driven environment or supporting digital transformation initiatives.
Strong understanding of financial modeling, valuation, and profitability analysis.
Experience with financial reporting and variance analysis, with the ability to translate complex financial data into actionable insights for non-financial stakeholders.
Proven experience in developing and presenting financial insights and recommendations to senior leadership.
Experience in collaborating with cross-functional teams, including IT, product development, and operations.
