How You Can Make an Impact

We are seeking an experienced energy trader to enhance our dynamic team. Within our collaborative ecosystem, which seamlessly combines trading, quantitative research, and cutting-edge technology, you will be instrumental in executing the group’s crude oil and related energy trading strategies. The ideal candidate will have a keen eye for monitoring daily trading activity, suggesting refinements to current strategies, and will possess both a strong technical acumen and the ability to remain attuned to the ever-evolving global markets. Working efficiently within a team environment is paramount.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop and refine trading strategies that harness the capabilities of our current system, aiming to further boost profitability.
  • Comprehend the nuances of crude oil qualities, including pipeline logistics, infrastructure intricacies, and blending opportunities.
  • Analyze market data and trends to pinpoint price/margin optimization opportunities within the supply chain.
  • Initiate and finalize trades, employ hedging strategies, and adeptly manage associated price risks.
  • Continuously monitor and hedge trading positions.
  • Provide daily exposure and P&L reports to immediate supervisors or relevant management.
  • Prioritize trading goals and chronicle any novel trading strategies.
  • Collaborate with the software development team to supervise and roll out new strategies for crude oil and distillates.

What You'll Need:

  • A Bachelor’s degree.
  • A minimum of 4 years of successful experience in a similar trading role.
  • Expert knowledge of crude oil and condensate market fundamentals, including demand, supply, pricing mechanisms, blending characteristics, logistics, regulations, operations, and contractual terms related to the purchase/sale of crude oil.
  • Proficiency in trading energy products such as natural gas, WTI, Brent crude, gasoil, heating oil, and RBOB gasoline.
  • A verifiable track record of consistent profitability.
  • Demonstrated ability to craft and successfully execute trading/hedging strategies rooted in comprehensive market analysis.
  • Outstanding leadership qualities, robust work ethic, and sharp analytical skills.
  • A professional demeanor complemented by superior interpersonal abilities.
  • A self-driven, results-oriented approach with the capacity to perform optimally under pressure, all while exercising sound judgment.
  • Prior experience with proprietary trading systems.
  • Programming experience is a plus, though not mandatory.

Benefits and Compensation:

Base Salary Range: $100,000 - $140,000 +  Eligible for semi-annual discretionary bonus.

The final salary determination will be dependent on the successful candidate's skills, experience, education, and qualifications.
