Job Summary:

We're seeking an experienced General Manager to join our team in Chicago, IL. This is an on-site position at a premier location and facility. As our new General Manager you will serve as the primary liaison between Exos, the client and other onsite amenities and leadership, ensuring alignment in delivering a world-class performance/wellbeing experience. Blending strategic thinking and operational excellence, you will design and execute programs and services that make the Fitness Center and Exos Coaching services an integral part of employees' lives and drive meaningful impact to their health and performance.

As our new General Manager you will:

  • Hire, supervise, mentor and evaluate department managers (Fitness, Group Exercise, Membership Sales, Customer Service).

  • Develop your site as a Center of Excellence, with multiple Subject Matter Experts, where other regional sites will send their staff for training.

  • Foster and manage quality relationships with client and site members.

  • Drive, track and report on key metrics regularly.

  • Complete P/L influence and control.

  • Support managers and membership by responding to emergent program and member requests, staff needs, scheduling and acting as marketing liaison for all fitness, wellness, and membership recruitment/retention programs and strategies.

  • Ensure excellent customer service and customer responsiveness to both inside and outside constituents.

  • Understand and be committed to the mission and vision of the clients Fitness and Wellbeing Program. Be knowledgeable about all wellbeing services, programs, and offerings.

  • Interact with other departments and amenities teams supporting the client, including restaurant and food services, medical and physical therapy.

  • Develop department budgets and strategic business plan, and monitor for progress monthly as a part of client monthly operations updates as measured against annual goals for all departments.

  • Support other EXOS sites and projects as a SME as needed.

Required Qualifications: 

  • 5 years Management Experience within the fitness industry, including overseeing operations and client relationship.

  • Bachelor’s Degree in fitness or business-related fields.

 

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Demonstrated success in increasing programming participation in a fitness & wellness facility.

  • Scheduling flexibility to work occasional evenings and weekends to support programming.    

  • Successful track record managing sales, personal/small group training, operations, group programming and customer service.

  • Excellent communication-both written and oral, leadership, interpersonal and supervisory skills.

  • Ability to anticipate, manage, and solve operational issues on a regular, and daily, basis.

  • Highly skilled in Google Docs, Excel, as well as proven ability to work with different CRM systems (i.e., CSI, Spectrum).

  • Outgoing personality.

Per pay transparency requirements, the compensation for this position ranges from $70,000/year to $105,000/year. Minimum rates may vary based on local wage laws. Pay is dependent on factors including site location, specialty, certifications and work experience as well as other business needs. Exos offers a comprehensive benefits package for all full time employees (all benefits are subject to eligibility requirements), which includes health insurance, life and disability benefits, 401(k) plan, and paid time off.  Additionally, Exos offers a variety of part time benefits (subject to eligibility requirements).
