Air Products and Chemicals, Inc. (NYSE: APD), a Fortune 500 manufacturer of industrial gases and chemicals, is seeking a Generated Gases Site Supervisor for our production facility in New Augusta, Mississippi.

The Generated Gases Site Supervisor position in New Augusta, MS is responsible for the day-to-day operation, monitoring, troubleshooting, and maintenance of the generated gases production facility. The facility includes an air separation plant, along with associated utilities that supply gaseous oxygen to the customer.

The position reports to the Convent, LA ASU Site Manager. The Supervisor is responsible for coordinating and handling all associated support functions and personnel for the facility.

Responsibilities:

  • Maintain a safe work environment by demonstrating leadership in company and industry safety processes, ensuring accurate documentation of all safety-related activities
  • Commitment to safety including Basic Safety Performance (BSP) compliance and process safety management.
  • Ensure environmental compliance with corporate policies and government regulations
  • Coordinate scheduled and unscheduled maintenance with logistics, customers, and other stakeholders
  • Drive plant efficiency and handle plant projects, including capital and maintenance scopes
  • Ensure compliance with Preventive Maintenance and Mechanical Integrity programs
  • Maintain effective communication with internal support groups and external stakeholders
  • Serve as the primary point of contact for customers, community representatives, and regulatory agencies
  • Lead turnaround and shutdown planning and execution
  • Lead incident investigations and implement corrective actions
  • Handle remote plant operations while ensuring adherence to safety and process safety protocols
  • Provide 24/7 on-call support, including weekends and holidays, when remote troubleshooting cannot resolve issues
  • Travel locally up to 50% of the time
  • Support operations at other local production facilities, including Brookhaven, MS (CO₂) and Convent, LA (ASU)

Qualifications:

  • High school diploma or GED required
  • Two-year Associate degree in Process Technology or a related technical field preferred, and/or three years of operations experience in a petrochemical or manufacturing environment
  • Prior operator experience in a petrochemical or manufacturing facility preferred
  • Experience in generated gases operations, air separation, or fractional distillation processes is a plus
  • Valid driver’s license with a clean driving record
  • Strong operational knowledge with a dedication to safety and continuous improvement
  • Strong communication and leadership skills
  • Proficient in computer applications, including Microsoft Office
  • Self-starter with the ability to work independently
  • Strong mechanical, instrumentation, and electrical skill

Physical Requirements:

  • Ability to climb ladders and stairs and lift a minimum of 50 lbs
  • Ability to wear appropriate PPE and physically perform all field-related tasks
