The Thermal Ceramics division designs, manufactures and installs a broad range of thermal insulation products that significantly reduce energy consumption and emissions in a variety of high temperature processing applications. Our product offering is extensive and covers application needs from Industrial to Commercial markets.

Responsibilities

Essential duties and responsibilities:


  • Profit optimization of product lines and assets including:
    • Global asset load balancing
    • Ensuring and managing supply for large RFQs
    • Providing volume / price guidance for cross regional asset load optimization
    • Management of asset utilization where there are cross-regional implications
    • Ensuring and managing global product supply for pre-marketing
    • Planning and managing new product supply
  • Capacity management
    • Management of global short supply
    • Reinvestment for volume vs margin increase
    • Strategic capacity planning / asset strategy
    • New investments
    • Shut down, make vs. buy, etc.
  • Product Portfolio
    • Product portfolio management (including phase out/rationalization)
    • (Product) Innovation
      • Create / maintain innovation Roadmap
      • Business case for global new products
      • End to end project management of product development
    • Business case of technology transfers (inc. internal)
    • Assessment of make- or buy for existing / new products
  • Global new product launch management including:
    • Value proposition
    • Target pricing
    • Production scale up strategies
    • Launch packages / requirements
  • Product competitive benchmarking and intelligence
  • Help drive strategic insights for strategy development and -decision making
  • Help drive strategy execution
  • Project management on ad hoc basis
Qualifications

Education & Acquired Knowledge: What does the role holder need to know?

  • Knowledge of strategy ideation and strategic model development;
  • Knowledge of project management and execution approaches;
  • Knowledge of management techniques, coaching and individual leadership;
  • Knowledge of sales techniques: knowing about different ways of selling, sales models, account management approaches, account planning methods, pricing structures etc.
  • Knowledge of Morgan products: features, benefits, and how customers use them to support their own businesses

Experience: What does the role holder need to be familiar with?

  • Working with customers: experience of discovering customer needs and developing customer relationships, evaluating and improving customer satisfaction
  • Channel Management: experience of managing distributors and agents, where the relationship to the end customer is indirect
  • Leading people: driving success through others;
  • Influencing: driving success without direct authority;
  • Forming a sales approach: experience of forming a go-to-market strategy for a defined audience
