  • Estimated annual base pay: Level 1 -  $63,200(minimum) - $79,000(midpoint) - $94,800(maximum)
  • Estimated annual base pay: Level 2 -  $75,000(minimum) - $94,000(midpoint) - $112,800(maximum)

What You Will Be Doing 

Level 1:

  • Trade Compliance Support: Provides support in responding to inquiries, resolving minor trade compliance issues, and assists with export/import of Woodward Aerospace products.
  • Coordinates with customs brokers and government agencies.
  • Monitors regulations to ensure compliance with import/export laws.
  • Supports processing of international shipments in compliance with export/import regulations.
  • Conducts audits to prevent violations.
  • Supports training employees on trade compliance policies.
  • Supports the Aerospace Business Segment for export/import transactions. Promotes compliance with U.S. Government Export Administration Regulations (EAR), U.S. Treasury - Office of Foreign Asset Controls (OFAC) and the International Traffic in Arms Regulations (ITAR) relating to the export of Company products, services, transfers of technical data, employment of foreign nationals and all other import/export licensing and compliance matters.
  • Supports the structuring of export licensing strategy using exceptions, exemptions, licenses, and agreements for complex business models.
  • Conducts internal trade compliance audits.
  • Works with relevant stakeholders to determine appropriate jurisdiction and classification of products and technologies.
  • Drives the processing and approval of applications for export/import licenses, commodity jurisdictions, advisory opinions, agreements (e.g., Technical Assistance Agreement, Manufacturing License Agreement, Distribution Agreement) for U.S. and international operations.
  • Drives and monitors license/agreement submissions throughout the review and approval process and resolve issues as needed.
  • Assist in Master Data Management within multiple business system platforms.
  • Supports process improvement.

Level 2:

  • Serves as a primary point of contact within the Business Group for export/import transactions. Business Group lead for promoting compliance with U.S. Government Export Administration Regulations (EAR), U.S. Treasury - Office of Foreign Asset Controls (OFAC) and the International Traffic in Arms Regulations (ITAR) relating to the export of Company products, services, transfers of technical data, employment of foreign nationals and all other import/export licensing and compliance matters.
  • Supports Contract Operations team by reviewing customer contracts and providing recommended changes or alternate language to Trade Compliance provisions to ensure Woodward’s compliance.
  • Leads the Business Group in the structuring export licensing strategy though the use of licenses and agreements for complex business models.
  • Conducts internal trade compliance audits and reviews within the Business Group.
  • Develops materials and cadence for the Business Group training on Trade Compliance topics.
  • Works with relevant stakeholders to determine appropriate jurisdiction and classification of products and technologies.
  • Drives the processing and approval of applications for export/import licenses, commodity jurisdictions, advisory opinions, agreements (e.g., Technical Assistance Agreement, Manufacturing License Agreement, Distribution Agreement) for U.S. and international operations.
  • Drives and monitors license/agreement submissions throughout the review and approval process and resolve issues as needed.
  • Assist in Master Data Management within multiple business system platforms.
  • Supports process improvement.

What We Are Looking For 

Level 1:

  • Regulatory Knowledge: Basic understanding of relevant laws, trade regulations, and industry standards to support trade compliance efforts. 
  • Analytical Skills: Ability to analyze data and identify potential compliance issues under the guidance of senior team members.
  • Attention to Detail: Strong focus on accuracy when reviewing documents, policies, and compliance reports
  • Communication Skills: Clear written and verbal communication abilities to assist in drafting reports and interacting with team members.
  • Data Management: Proficiency in organizing and maintaining compliance-related records and documentation.
  • Time Management: Ability to prioritize tasks effectively and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
  • Technical Proficiency: Familiarity with SAP, SharePoint, Microsoft Office tools, spreadsheets, and document management software.
  • Team Collaboration: Willingness to work collaboratively with colleagues and contribute to team objectives.
  • Adaptability: Flexibility to learn and adapt to new regulations, procedures, and compliance tools as needed.

Level 2:

  • Regulatory Knowledge: Solid understanding of laws, trade regulations (ITAR/EAR), and industry standards applicable to the organization’s operations.
  • Analytical Thinking: Ability to evaluate compliance data and identify trends or risks to ensure regulatory adherence.
  • Attention to Detail: Meticulous attention to detail when reviewing policies, procedures, and compliance documentation.
  • Communication Skills: Strong written and verbal communication skills to convey compliance requirements and findings clearly.
  • Policy Implementation: Skill in assisting with the implementation and enforcement of compliance policies and procedures.
  • Risk Assessment: Capability to identify and assess potential compliance risks and recommend mitigation strategies.
  • Training Support: Ability to assist in the development and delivery of compliance training programs for employees.
  • Problem Solving: Resourcefulness in addressing minor compliance issues and escalating more complex matters as needed.
  • Organizational Skills: Competence in managing multiple compliance tasks, tracking deadlines, and maintaining records.
  • Technical Proficiency: Proficiency in using compliance-related software, tools, and databases to streamline workflows
