MISSION 

Navy Pier is the People’s Pier, Chicago’s lakefront treasure, welcoming all and offering dynamic and eclectic experiences through partnerships and programs that inspire discovery and wonder. 


JOB SUMMARY 

We are looking for a talented freelance Graphic Designer to support the development of creative assets across marketing campaigns, events, social media, digital channels, and print. The ideal candidate is a strong visual storyteller who can take creative direction and brand guidelines and turn them into engaging, polished work. 

 

KEY DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES 

 

The duties and responsibilities listed below are representative of the knowledge, skills and/or abilities required to successfully perform this job. Duties may include, but are not limited to: 

 

  • Design creative assets for digital, social, email, web, advertising, and print. 

  • Develop campaign concepts and visual executions based on creative briefs. 

  • Adapt designs across multiple formats, sizes, and channels. 

  • Ensure all creative is consistent with brand guidelines and visual identity. 

  • Collaborate with marketing, creative, and other internal teams. 

  • Manage multiple projects and deadlines while maintaining attention to detail. 

  • Incorporate feedback and make revisions efficiently. 

  • Prepare final files for digital use and print production as needed. 


EXPERIENCE 

  • 3+ years of professional graphic design experience, preferably in marketing, advertising, entertainment, hospitality, events, or a related industry. 

  • Experience developing creative for social media, email, websites, digital advertising, presentations, and print. 

  • Proven ability to take a creative brief or concept and develop it into compelling visual executions. 

  • Experience adapting creative across multiple formats, sizes, and channels while maintaining a consistent visual identity. 

  • Experience working within established brand guidelines and visual systems. 

  • Experience managing multiple projects and deadlines in a fast-paced environment. 

  • Strong portfolio demonstrating a range of creative work and design capabilities. 

 

QUALIFICATIONS 

  • Proficiency in Adobe Creative Suite, particularly Photoshop, Illustrator, and InDesign. 

  • Strong understanding of typography, layout, composition, color, and visual hierarchy. 

  • Excellent attention to detail. 

  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively with marketing and creative teams. 

  • Strong communication skills and ability to incorporate feedback. 

  • Highly organized with the ability to prioritize competing deadlines. 

  • Comfortable working in a freelance/contract capacity with flexible project needs.
