Job Description SummaryThe Commercial Director is responsible for providing strategic and operational leadership of all commercial activities related to the AC Integrated Solutions which includes Transmission and High-Voltage Substation EPC projects, leads a team of Bid/ Commercial Managers to develop solutions proposals, including deal strategy, pricing, risk/opportunity mgmt. & contract negotiations. In this role you will ensure the efficient delivery of quality bids, geared towards improved response time & win-rates, the seamless order transfer, and a maximum support of growth plans. Scope includes AIS/GIS Substations (69kV–765kV) for all market segments which may include FACTS, and other Reactive Power Compensation projects also Grid expansion and Power evacuation infrastructure.

Job Description

Key Responsibilities

  • Define and implement the overall commercial strategy for Transmission, Substation, and Grid Infrastructure projects.

  • Drive portfolio-level margin optimization, risk control, and value creation.

  • Support strategic market expansion with utilities, Data centers, Industrial  and renewable developers.

  • Provide commercial leadership for framework agreements, long-term contracts, and strategic partnerships.

  • Leads Bid Managers as of the Go! Decision to deal-strategy sign-off, resourcing, complete risk assessment, submission, deal clarification/negotiation, hand-over to the Execution teams.

  • the active participation in optimization of bid generation, the use of all relevant tools & working practices.

  • Leads Bid Managers as of the Go! Decision to deal-strategy sign-off & -resourcing, complete risk assessment, submission, deal clarification/negotiation & hand-over to the OTR phase.

  • Engages subcontractors & partners to support the  bid development.

  • Ensures that the Policy 5.0 process is being followed with no misses also on risk assessments and compliance standards.

  • Drives adaption of contemporary tools (PCDB, CRM, RAM, etc).

  • Partners with Sales, Commercial Operations, Legal, Commercial Finance , Engineering and project execution teams and represent the deal at Grid System Integration leadership levels as appropriate.

  • Liaises with Commercial Leaders on innovative opportunities such as the further development of solutions for Data centers/ AI opportunities.

  • Develops Tendering people as a team of diverse talent and proven experts in bid works, also to ensure succession plan.

  • Maintains knowledge of market trends, actions, customer requirements, customer base and understands cultural and local particularities of multiple markets across region.

  • Ensure lessons learned are systematically fed back into future bidding strategies.

  • Lead, mentor, and develop the commercial team.

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering discipline (preferrably an MBA, commercial, legal or financial).

  • Minimum of 15 years of experience in Transmission and Hi-Voltage Substation EPC projects.

  • At least 7 years of senior leadership experience with direct accountability for commercial performance.

Desired Characteristics

  • Proven track record managing large-scale EPC contracts

  • Contractual risk assessment and mitigation.

  • Strong Knowledge of  the Electrical Transmission and distributions systems and  High Voltage Substations required for Utilities, Data Centers and industrial segments.

For candidates applying to a U.S. based position, the pay range for this position is between $151,400.00 and $252,200.00. The Company pays a geographic differential of 110%, 120% or 130% of salary in certain areas. The specific pay offered may be influenced by a variety of factors, including the candidate’s experience, education, and skill set.

Bonus eligibility: sales incentive.
