The OpportunityTo achieve our ambitious goals, we’re looking for a Group Manager, Brand Advertising to join our Acquisition Growth Team. This role will own the strategy, budget, and execution of our top-of-funnel and brand advertising investment across Grammarly and Superhuman.
As Group Manager, Brand Advertising, you will lead a team of brand advertising marketers and a bench of media and creative agencies, helping to shape how our fast-evolving, multi-brand portfolio shows up across top-of-funnel channels.
Own the ToF/brand media plan and budget. Set annual and campaign-level allocation (~$XXM/year) across TV, streaming/CTV, OOH, YouTube/digital video, influencer, and audio; continue testing new or emerging channels. Manage and optimize those budgets effectively, allocating budgets across brands, channels, audiences, markets, and campaigns to improve ROI and support brand and growth targets.
Oversee agency and contractor relationships for brand advertising and media. Direct partners and agencies on portfolio strategy, creative execution, media efficiency, and reporting.
Adapt the brand story across a multi-brand portfolio. Translate evolving positioning across Grammarly, Superhuman Mail, Docs, and Go, as well as newly acquired brands, into channel-specific campaigns (e.g., Back-to-School, Superhuman Awareness, Professionals) that stay consistent as the portfolio shifts.
Prove ToF is working. Partner with Data Science/Measurement on incrementality (GeoX), media-mix modeling, and brand-lift studies (Ipsos, UXMR) to validate spend and reallocate against what's working.
Build the strategic frameworks the function runs on. Drive the investment strategy and playbook for multi-brand and multi-product top-of-funnel investment. Set guidelines for working with business unit leaders .
Collaborate closely with internal teams, including brand creative, data science, and product marketing, to ensure alignment of our ad initiatives with overall business objectives and messaging.
Lead, mentor, and inspire a team of brand advertising marketers, providing guidance, support, and professional development opportunities to ensure the team's success.
8+ years in brand/ToF media, with direct experience across channels such as TV, streaming/CTV, OOH, digital video, influencer, and audio.
Track record owning $XXM+ in annual media budget, including agency management and vendor negotiation.
Experience managing a portfolio of brands or products under one house of brand, and adapting messaging as positioning shifts.
Direct creative production experience (agency-side or client-side): comfortable in scripts, storyboards, and cuts, not just media plans.
Working fluency in incrementality and brand-lift measurement (e.g., geo experiments, media-mix modeling); can translate results into creative and media decisions.
Team management experience, and can flex between channel management and strategic planning.
