Job Title: Group Sales Representative

Division: Group Benefits

Location: Chicago, IL

Type: Full-Time; May require occasional overtime, including evenings and weekends; Travel is required

Hiring Range: Total Compensation Range is $100,000- $150,000 annually

Commitment: Three-Year Commitment to The Cason Group

Our Sales Representatives are responsible for sales activities in assigned geographic area including direct personal contact with independent insurance agents and brokers, insurance consultants, financial advisors, and insurance carriers and are charged with cultivating relationships that will positively further our mission.

What Our Sales Representatives Do:

  • Develop and Maintain Relationships: establish and retain strong, positive relationships with current and potential clients as well as relevant carrier partners; develop and maintain knowledge of carriers’ products, underwriting requirements, rate structures, and other pertinent information; assist agents/brokers with employee presentations and group enrollments; support agents/brokers by determining the best carrier and coverage options; identify and resolve agent/broker concerns/problems
  • Drive Results: identify prospects and make sales presentations to potential clients; accompany agents/brokers on sales calls to explain product and carrier alternatives; communicate new product information and provide training for agents/brokers to assist them in selling business; evaluate agent/broker effectiveness to determine marketing priorities; exceed sales goals by increasing volume of business
  • Stay Current in Industry: successfully maintain relevant Life and Health Insurance licensures and other professional certifications; engage with professional organizations

What We Are Looking For:

  • Bachelor’s Degree and a minimum of 5 years of direct industry experience in Texas markets, preferably in sales; Valid state driver’s license
  • Current Health Insurance License (or the ability to obtain licensure within the first 60 days of employment
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills in order to positively influence others
  • Ability to develop and deliver effective sales presentations
  • Strong attention to detail and accuracy along with compliance of deadlines while managing and prioritize multiple tasks simultaneously
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Outlook and Teams); knowledge of databases
  • Ability to maintain a professional appearance and positive company image
