Chief Detective is looking for an ambitious and driven Growth Partner to help our clients—fast-growing DTC startups and large retail companies—scale revenue and acquisition aggressively via paid digital channels. We’re a top agency on Meta and Google, and are actively expanding our capabilities across channels.
Chief Detective specializes in e-commerce and works with direct-to-consumer (DTC) brands in apparel, beauty, lifestyle, and wellness. Representative clients include Jenni Kayne, Rag & Bone, Ursa Major, Buck Mason, Frank & Eileen, Oak Essentials, and Todd Snyder.
The core function of the Growth Partner role is to help clients succeed in holistic marketing strategies that make their brand come to life and hit their goals through the following:
- Being the digital agency of record: managing media spend across digital channels
- Implementing proven & successful performance marketing frameworks
- Advising clients on performance-based creative strategies
Responsibilities:
As a Growth Partner, you will manage a book of clients as well as pods of media buyers and creative strategists.
Executive Client Relationship Management
- You are a primary liaison between Chief Detective and our clients, and have a responsibility for building and sustaining impactful client relationships that deliver year-over-year growth.
- You will help drive overall client strategy and the adoption of core Chief Detective strategic frameworks.
Creative Strategy & Planning
- Offer a strong consultative approach to help clients establish a creative flywheel. You’ll be instrumental in helping clients orchestrate performance-centric storytelling, positioning, messaging, and visuals through creative.
Framework Adoption & Progression
- Chief Detective has built a structured and systematic approach to performance marketing and at the onset of a new client relationship you will lead the high level integration and customization required for clients to adopt this framework.
- Examples of this framework include building out hero product ads, new arrivals, brand sequences, and 360-flighted campaigns.
Paid Media Management
- As the agency of record, you will work closely with the pod media buyers to ensure media is spent wisely and effectively by hitting client goals.
- You will manage several pods underneath you that include a mix of growth managers and creative personnel.
Qualifications:
- A minimum of 10 years experience in digital media, media buying and creative for beauty, wellness, lifestyle (and similar) brands
- Proven track record of growing e-commerce brands through integrated marketing approaches with a focus on performance & brand marketing channels including paid social & search, retention, acquisition, etc
- Experience managing and developing high performing teams from junior to senior levels in growth marketing
- Excellent communication and presentation skills
- Ability to maintain executive relationships with CEO/CMO’s of startups and an understanding of board/funding and able to cater to executive needs, create board decks, etc
- Understanding of DTC/e-commerce businesses and can advise on key impact areas
- Ability to forecast cross-channel performance and contribution to overall business
- Experience building UGC and other in-house content pipelines

Compensation and Benefits:
- The salary range for this position is $180-$200K
- This position also includes sales-based incentives and commissions.
