ClassDojo's goal is to give every child on Earth an education they love.

We started by building a powerful network for communication. ClassDojo’s flagship app is the #1 communication app connecting K-12 teachers, children, and families globally. Teachers use it to share what’s happening throughout the day through photos, videos, and messages that make parents feel like they’re there. It’s actively used in over 95% of US schools, reaching over 45 million children in 180 countries, with a team of just around 200 people [1]. We are now beginning to use this network to give kids the best learning experiences in the world, far beyond those a standard school can provide.

We hire for talent density. Our team comprises the most talented, entrepreneurial, and innovative teammates from around the world, with experience in education and large scale consumer internet companies, including Instagram, Netflix, Dropbox, Stripe, Uber, Y Combinator, and more. We’re building a company where the most talented people want to work. We believe you’ll do the best work of your life here—and you’ll pioneer the future of education, too.

The Role:

We are looking for a Head of Data to lead our Data Science and Analytics Engineering teams and serve as a key member of the executive team. In this role you’d be building a data organization that directly shapes product decisions, drives experimentation, and improves how the entire company operates. You will lead a team of ~15 people and be responsible for ensuring that data is a core driver of product direction, not just a support function. This role is hands-on. You will engage directly in product questions, experiments, and metric definition, while also building a strong, cohesive, and high-performing team.

What you’ll do:

• Lead and develop a high-performing Data Science and Analytics Engineering team
• Drive data-led product improvements across growth, engagement, and monetization
• Partner closely with Product, Engineering, and Leadership to shape strategy
• Build systems and frameworks that improve decision speed and clarity
• Establish clear and trusted metrics and data definitions
• Integrate AI into data workflows to improve efficiency and insight generation
• Maintain a high hiring bar and strong team culture

You will be a match if:

• You have led a data team of ~10–20 people in a hands-on capacity
• You have directly driven product or business impact through data
• You think in terms of product outcomes, not just analysis
• You are comfortable operating in ambiguity and creating structure where needed
• You enjoy being both a leader and an individual contributor
You have a point of view on how AI will change data work
