Location:        Remote with travel – Orange County, CA

Reports to:     SVP, Digital Strategy

The Role:   

The Head of Analytics & Insights is a senior leadership role responsible for managing a team of analysts, driving data-driven decision-making and delivering strategic insights that impact business objectives. The ideal candidate will possess strong analytical skills, data-storytelling expertise, and the ability to collaborate across teams.

 
The Impact You Will Have in This Role:  

This role with dig deep to uncover valuable hidden insights in the retail digital data, combine with other company data sets and proactively push insights and recommended actions to clients through Program Directors (OEM’s), Partner Managers (Dealer Service Providers) and Dealer Consultants (Dealers). The desired outcomes include increased sales, customer loyalty and improved digital spend efficiency.


What You’ll Be Doing in This Role: 

Leadership and Team Management

  • Lead and mentor a team of data analysts and visualization experts to ensure high-quality deliverables.
  • Foster a culture of innovation, collaboration, and continuous learning.

Analytics Strategy Development

  • Oversee the design and implementation of measurement frameworks, data models, KPIs, and media performance tracking processes.
  • Design and execute predictive models to assess the impact of marketing activities, enabling clients to make data-driven investment decisions and maximize ROI.
  • Analyze new media opportunities and recommend areas to pilot for OEM and dealers.
  • Benchmark tactics and strategies of high performing dealers and partners.
  • Utilize broad J.D Power research and Insights to add additional value to clients.
  • Stay abreast of industry trends and emerging technologies to ensure the organization remains competitive in its use of analytics.

Data Collection and Analysis

  • Review performance data for lead buying and generation, lead conversion, website merchandising performance (views, engagement, conversions), digital advertising channel spend and performance.
  • Review performance between website, digital retail and advertising partners and draw insights on what is driving highest conversions to sales.
  • Conduct marketing, advertising and spend optimization analysis across clients.
  • Develop and maintain systems for monitoring and reporting on media campaign performance, ensuring alignment with client goals and optimizing ROI.
  • Ensure data integrity and accuracy while leveraging statistical methods, predictive modeling, and machine learning techniques.

Insights Generation

  • Translate complex datasets into actionable insights that drive operational efficiency, revenue growth, customer satisfaction, and strategic decision-making.
  • Develop compelling visualizations, reports, and presentations tailored for executive leadership and non-technical stakeholders.
  • Develop ongoing insights into a solution that enables the delivery of insights to scale into potential product or commercial solution.

Executive Communication

  • Partner with clients to understand their challenges and tailor analytics solutions to their unique needs, with a focus on actionable insights from media performance data.
  • Present findings to senior executives in non-technical language while delivering clear recommendations for action.
  • Represent J.D. Power as an expert speaker in Auto Retail Marketing.

Qualifications of this Role: 

  • Bachelor’s degree in Analytics, Computer Science, Data Science, Business Administration, or a related field; advanced degree preferred.
  • 10+ years of experience in analytics, business intelligence, or data strategy leadership roles, with a demonstrated ability to deliver measurable business impact.
  • 5+ years of experience managing teams, with a focus on scaling analytics capabilities and driving enterprise-wide initiatives.
  • Strong expertise analytics frameworks, techniques and advanced analytics platforms.
  • Experience with data visualization and storytelling, translating complex analyses into actionable insights for both technical and non-technical audiences.
  • Exceptional communication and executive presentation skills, with the ability to influence and align stakeholders.
  • Familiarity with AI/ML applications in analytics and experience integrating these capabilities into business workflows.
  • Experience using or deploying digital analytics, measurement and ad tech solutions.
  • Experience with c-Suite Consulting with focus on marketing and advertising
  • Experience in media management or advertising effectiveness research.
  • Understanding of search, video, programmatic media, and media measurement.
