The Opportunity:
This is an exciting opportunity to lead the technology evolution of a mission driven education platform at a pivotal stage of growth and modernization.
As Head of Technology, you will define and execute the long-term technology vision for School Pathways. Ensuring the platform is scalable, secure, reliable and well positioned for the future of education technology.
You will lead Engineering and Technical Operations, driving architectural excellence, AI first innovation, and execution in close partnership with Product and Executive Leadership. You will also inspire and develop a talented team, fostering a culture of accountability, growth, and innovation.

What You Will Do:
- Define and own the technical vision and architecture for the School Pathways platform
- Lead and mentor engineering teams to deliver high-quality, scalable, and secure solutions
- Drive modernization of the platform, including infrastructure, APIs, performance optimization and AI-first capabilities.
- Partner with Product to translate vision and roadmap into technical strategy and execution plans
- Establish engineering best practices, development standards, and operational excellence
- Ensure platform security, data privacy, and compliance with education regulations
- Evaluate and adopt emerging technologies that enable innovation and long-term scalability
- Balance technical debt reduction with new feature development
- Build a strong engineering culture focused on accountability, innovation, and continuous improvement
What We’re Looking For:
- Senior engineering leadership experience, ideally as a CTO, VP of Engineering, Director or similar role
- Deep technical expertise in SaaS architecture, infrastructure, and modern development practices
- Experience building SaaS products where AI capabilities are foundational to the value proposition (e.g., predictive insights, automation, personalization, intelligent workflows).
- Proven ability to scale platforms and teams in a growing organization
- Strong understanding of security, compliance, and reliability in enterprise software
- Strategic thinker with the ability to execute pragmatically
- Collaborative leadership style with strong cross-functional partnership skills
The expected base salary for this position is: USD $175,000 - $250,000 excluding annual bonus and equity (when applicable). Salary is based on a number of factors including market conditions, location and may vary depending on job-related skills and experience.
