Summary
The Health Economics and Outcomes Research (HEOR) Scientist will play a critical role on the Medical Affairs team by executing HEOR tactics to demonstrate the value of GeneDx's genetic testing services, with the goal of generating evidence to increase clinician adoption, expand patient access, and optimize reimbursement. This role involves performing various HEOR activities, collaborating with cross-functional teams, and analyzing large datasets to generate real-world evidence. The HEOR scientist will also engage with key stakeholders and contribute to scientific publications and presentations, ensuring GeneDx's leadership in the field of rare genetic diseases.
Job Responsibilities
- Execute HEOR activities that support established medical and business strategies for GeneDx’s genetic testing services.
- Conduct HEOR studies, including cost-effectiveness analyses, budget impact models, and other methods for generating real-world evidence.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including clinical and commercial departments, to integrate HEOR insights into ongoing projects and address HEOR questions in real time.
- Analyze large datasets to identify trends, health outcomes, and economic impacts of genetic testing.
- Support efforts with key stakeholders, including healthcare providers, payers, and patient advocacy groups.
- Prepare scientific deliverables to support communication of HEOR insights and findings, such as internal presentations, abstracts, posters, and manuscript development.

Education, Experience, and Skills
- PhD (or equivalent) in health economics, public health, or a related field.
- Minimum of 3 years of experience in analyzing and publishing claims data, and presenting economic outcomes of clinical programs.
- Proficiency in health economics methodologies, outcomes research techniques, and statistical analysis.
- Experience working with data claims aggregators.
- Strong publication record in reputable journals.
- Excellent analytical, communication, and presentation skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a multidisciplinary team.
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.

- This is a fully remote position. The employee will work from a home office or other suitable remote location with reliable high-speed internet access. Work is performed in a climate-controlled environment using standard office equipment including a computer, phone, and video conferencing tools.
