Position Overview
Storer Transportation is seeking a remote HR Generalist / Leave Administrator to manage comprehensive human resources functions with a specialized focus on leave management and FMLA compliance. This role serves as a trusted resource for remote and on-site staff, ensuring all employment practices align with state and federal regulations. The ideal candidate brings extensive knowledge of employment law and a compassionate, organized approach to employee support.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage the full lifecycle of all leave of absence requests, including FMLA, CFRA, disability, and parental leave.
- Coordinate with employees, managers, and insurance providers to facilitate smooth return-to-work timelines and accommodations.
- Serve as the primary point of contact for employee relations inquiries, policy interpretations, and benefits administration.
- Guide managers through performance management processes, disciplinary actions, and documentation.
- Conduct regular audits of HR files, compliance training metrics, and workplace posters to ensure total regulatory alignment.
Qualifications & Skills
- Minimum of 4–5 years of HR generalist experience with a heavy emphasis on leave administration.
- Deep understanding of federal and state labor laws, FMLA/ADA regulations, and compliance frameworks.
- Excellent communication, active listening, and conflict-resolution capabilities.
- High proficiency with HRIS platforms, case management software, and secure digital filing systems.
- PHR, SPHR, or SHRM-CP certification is highly preferred.
