Program Overview

Our HR Leadership Development Program is designed to cultivate the next generation of HR leaders within our organization. This immersive program offers high-potential HR professionals a unique opportunity to gain hands-on experience, develop critical leadership skills, and build a strong foundation for a successful career in HR leadership.

With three, one year rotations across the people function, these candidates will obtain breadth, depth and leadership experience that will give them the experiences to drive organizational success. The rotations could be in the following areas: HR Business Partner, Talent Management, Compensation, Talent Acquisition, Organizational Development.

Program Features

  • Structured Learning: Each rotation is paired with clearly defined learning objectives, ensuring you develop specific skills and gain the knowledge needed to excel in each department.

  • Mentorship and Coaching: Benefit from one-on-one mentorship and coaching from experienced HR professionals, who will guide you through your rotations and help you navigate your career path.

  • Networking Opportunities: Participate in regular social and professional events designed to help you build strong relationships across the organization.

  • Leadership Development Training: Participants will receive comprehensive leadership development training including workshops, seminars and online courses. These experiences focus on enhancing skills in areas such as strategic thinking, decision making, communication, change management and leadership

  • Career Counseling: Receive ongoing career counseling to help you reflect on your experiences, set career goals, and create a personalized career plan.

  • Cross-Functional Project: Collaborate with your cohort on a real business problem, dedicating 5 hours a week to this cross-functional project.

  • Leadership Development: Cultivate essential leadership competencies, positioning yourself for future leadership roles within your area of expertise.

  • Drive Impactful Projects: Lead and execute high-impact projects that contribute to the success of your rotational department and our organization as a whole.

Is This Program Right for You?

This program is ideal for all recent Master’s graduates who are adaptable, flexible, and eager to place employees at the center of their work. To succeed, candidates must demonstrate:

  • Strong analytical and creative problem-solving skills

  • Excellent communication, interpersonal, and presentation skills

  • Financial literacy and the ability to navigate complex business environments

  • Leadership experience, whether through clubs, projects, or other initiatives

  • A proven academic record (minimum 3.5 GPA)

  • Previous internship experience (minimum one, two preferred)

  • A proactive approach to working in teams and taking on leadership roles, strong desire to learn and grow as an HR leader

Eligibility Requirements

  • Master’s degree (graduate in May 2025)

  • Must be open to FT location within one of WEX hub locations: 

  • Requires relocation to Portland, Maine for one year (relocation assistance is provided)

The base pay range represents the anticipated low and high end of the pay range for this position. Actual pay rates will vary and will be based on various factors, such as your qualifications, skills, competencies, and proficiency for the role. Base pay is one component of WEX's total compensation package. Most sales positions are eligible for commission under the terms of an applicable plan. Non-sales roles are typically eligible for a quarterly or annual bonus based on their role and applicable plan.
