We are seeking an HR Operations Specialist to support our People team, serving as the initial point of contact for HR, Benefits, HRIS, and other general questions. This person will interact regularly with candidates and employees of every level while supporting HR/HRIS/Total Rewards initiatives and projects. We’re looking for somebody with foundational knowledge of HR, HRIS, and Total Rewards (Benefits) who is eager to grow their career and build relationships across the organization while delivering best-in-class employee support. 

The ideal candidate for this role is someone who has a growth-oriented mindset and enjoys thinking analytically as well as interacting with employees. This person feels confident in their ability to focus on the details and produce high quality work with a high sense of ownership and follow-up to ensure questions are answered as well as programs and processes work seamlessly. While this person will work closely with the entire People team, the role reports to the Senior Human Resources Manager and is located at our corporate office (currently remote).

What You’ll Do:

  • Provide Farmer’s Fridge employees with strong service and timely, and accurate responses to HR-related questions: general HR, benefits, payroll, HRIS, etc.
  • Support the roll out and maintenance of Total Rewards programs and initiatives as well as annual reporting requirements (401k, etc.).
  • Maintain our HRIS (Paycor) to ensure all information is accurate and up to date as well as liaise with payroll to ensure appropriate handoffs on payroll-related items (employment verifications, Chicago Fair Work Week, etc.)
  • Maintain employee data and process changes
  • Support the creation, implementation, documentation, and communication of various HR policies 
  • Assist in the creation and maintenance of dashboards, KPIs, and reporting as needed
  • Complete benefit reconciliations, HSA enrollments, compensation work, and HRIS projects
  • Administer leave programs and policies in accordance with applicable federal and state laws and company leave policies
  • Ensure a best-in-class candidate and new hire experience through effective and positive communication as well as accurate maintenance of hiring platforms (Applicant Tracking System, etc.)
  • Support immigration program, processes and initiatives 

What Your Background May Look Like:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Human Resources and 1-3 years of HR or Total Rewards / HRIS coordination experience, or comparable combination of education and human resources-related experience in these areas
  • Keen attention to detail with exceptional critical thinking skills; demonstrated ability to independently analyze and interpret information to create effective solutions
  • Experience with various HRIS Systems, and a high proficiency in Google Suite
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment, navigate ambiguity and changing priorities
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
