Farmer’s Fridge is on a mission to make it simple for everyone to eat well. We serve healthy, handcrafted meals and snacks from our growing network of 400+ Smart Fridges (software-enabled vending machines). We are striving to change the food system from the ground up – one Fridge or delivery at a time.

We are a team that cares -– about the business, the impact our product makes, and each other. We are data-driven, innovative, and quick to move on a good idea. We are looking for people who want to collaborate in an entrepreneurial, inclusive culture and have a passion to succeed.

As a member of the People team, the People Operations Generalist will operationalize HR programs with the goal of delivering a frictionless, exceptional employee experience with each and every interaction.

The ideal candidate for this role is someone who has a growth-oriented mindset and enjoys evolving people as much as improving processes. You are very confident in your problem-solving and critical-thinking skills, and love getting to put them to use. You can navigate complex people situations and are rightly seen as an honest and trusted partner by those you work with. While this person will work closely with the entire People team, the role reports to the Director of People and is located at our corporate office (currently remote).

What You'll Do:

  • Operationalize HR programs such as new regulations or new systems
  • Assess and improve HR practices and processes
  • Develop KPIs and dashboards to measure key data and identify areas to improve or leverage
  • Turn data into digestible insights through story-telling, dashboards, and other venues
  • Partner with People Director on engagement, culture and recognition activities (e.g. birthday shoutouts on Slack, engagement surveys, new hire check ins, ...)
  • Handle onboarding and offboarding of employees, as well as internal promotion and transfer processes
  • Partner with the Total Rewards Manager on items like benefit reconciliations, HSA enrollments, managing leaves, compensation work, and HRIS projects
  • Be a reliable “go to” person for information, support, and advice for employees and leaders
  • Work with managers to find solutions to employee performance issues, coach as needed, and ensure consistency in all execution of policies and practices
  • Provide additional support to our production facility when needed

What We're Looking For:

  • Bachelor's Degree, preferably in a business discipline
  • 3+ years of relevant work experience in HR at growing startups, biz ops roles, and/or consulting. Experience in an organization with office and hourly employees a plus
  • Results focused person that is willing to dive into the details to ensure tools operate as intended
  • Deep empathy and obsession for delivering an amazing employee experience and for making things more efficient, and drive to always make thing better (continuous improvement)
  • Strong analytical skills and proficiency in Google Sheets/Excel
  • Creative problem solving skills. You combine knowledge of HR and systems with creativity to deliver easy to use tools
  • You thrive in fast-paced, get-stuff-done environments - and can easily juggle multiple priorities and projects
  • Sense of curiosity - Why do we do things this way? Is there a better way? What is the data telling us? I wonder if there is a correlation between x and y?

Benefits at Farmer's Fridge:

In This Together - Our HQ employees are currently working from home, but we stay connected virtually with weekly town hall meetings, social hours, and remote game nights. Our bonus roles as taste testers are also still intact! You can sample what new items we’re cooking up in our test kitchen with our menu team’s no-contact "employee drive-thru".

Happier Weekdays - Each day at work should fill you with joy, not dread. We're a fun and passionate group, and we don't take ourselves too seriously. Bring your unique self to work, dress comfortably, and always feel free to share your thoughts and opinions. We encourage curiosity and inquiry; there's no hierarchy here when we're all swapping ideas.

Innovate & Elevate - We're all teachers and learners. You'll grow, and help grow the company through cross-functional collaboration, open access to leadership, and regular business updates. You have a direct impact on the company’s bottom line. You can also impact your personal bottom line by participating in our 401(k) plan that includes a company match with immediate vesting.
