Job Summary
We are seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Human Resources Assistant to support the HR department in daily administrative and employee-related tasks. The HR Assistant will help with recruitment, employee records management, onboarding, and HR documentation while ensuring compliance with company policies and employment regulations.
The ideal candidate should have strong organizational skills, the ability to handle confidential information, and excellent communication skills.
Key Responsibilities
- Assist with the recruitment and hiring process, including posting job ads and scheduling interviews
- Maintain and update employee records and HR databases
- Support the onboarding process for new employees
- Prepare HR documents such as employment contracts, offer letters, and policy updates
- Assist with payroll documentation and benefits administration
- Respond to employee inquiries regarding HR policies and procedures
- Maintain confidentiality of employee and company information
- Coordinate training sessions and employee development programs
- Help ensure compliance with company policies and labor regulations
- Assist in organizing employee files, reports, and HR records
Required Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent
- 1–2 years of administrative or HR-related experience
- Basic understanding of human resources practices and procedures
- Strong organizational and multitasking skills
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook)
- Ability to maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive information
Preferred Qualifications
- Associate or Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or related field
- Experience with HR software or HRIS systems
- Knowledge of employment laws and HR compliance requirements
- Experience supporting recruitment or employee onboarding

Salary (Typical for Bakersfield)
- $38,000 – $50,000 per year
- Approximately $18 – $24 per hour, depending on experience
