Job Description:

Dynamic and fast-growing middle-market engineering consulting firm is seeking a versatile and hands-on Human Resources Manager to join our team and contribute to the success and continued growth of our organization.  The Human Resources Manager will play a pivotal role in shaping and executing HR strategies to support the company's growth and maintain a positive workplace culture.  This individual will be responsible for overseeing all aspects of human resources, from onboarding to employee relations, to benefits, performance management and compliance.  The successful candidate will be skilled in critical thinking and comfortable in leading analytical problem-solving.

Job Duties/Responsibilities:

  1. Strategic HR Planning:
  • Develop & implement HR strategies and initiatives aligned with overall business strategy.
  • Work closely with senior management to understand and address organizational needs.
  • Stay informed on labor laws and regulations, adapting policies accordingly.
  1. Employee Relations:
  • Foster a positive and inclusive work environment by promoting open communication and addressing employee concerns.
  • Mediate and resolve employee conflicts, ensuring a harmonious workplace.
  • Manage employee relations including conflict resolution, disciplinary actions, and grievance handling.
  1. Performance Management:
  • Manage, oversee, and improve existing performance evaluation processes to ensure alignment with company goals.
  • Provide guidance on performance improvement plans and professional development.
  1. Onboarding:
  • Take custody of new hire relationships from the in-house recruiting function and lead data gathering efforts, including coordinating financial, tax, and personal data for new hires. 
  • Collaborate with department heads to develop an onboarding schedule to transition the resource from “new hire” to “productive contributor”.
  1. Training and Development:
  • Identify training needs and coordinate the development of training programs.
  • Implement initiatives to enhance employee skills and knowledge.
  • Manage employee feedback initiatives to incorporate improvements
  1. Payroll Operations:
  • Oversee end-to-end payroll processing to ensure timely and accurate employee compensation.
  • Conduct job audits and classification studies; maintains the classification plan and salary schedules
  • Partner with Financial Services to ensure proper payroll accounting, tax filings, and reporting.
  1. Benefits Administration:
  • Manage employee benefits programs, including health insurance, retirement plan, and other benefits, ensuring competitiveness and compliance.  
  • Ensure compliance with applicable benefits regulations (e.g., ACA, COBRA, ERISA).
  • Serve as Plan Administrator for the company’s 401(k) retirement plan. Oversee employee communications, enrollment, and education related to retirement benefits.
  1. HR Metrics and Reporting:
  • Maintain compensation database and provide timely compensation benchmarking for management.
  • Establish and maintain HR metrics to measure the effectiveness of HR programs.
  • Prepare and present HR reports to senior management.
  1. Employee Engagement:
  • Implement initiatives to enhance employee engagement and satisfaction.
  • Organize team-building activities and recognition programs.

 Minimum Qualifications:

  • Education:

Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field

  • Experience:

Proven experience as an HR Manager in a mid-sized company, preferably in a professional services industry

  • Other Skills:

Thorough knowledge of employment laws and regulations.

Experience in gathering and analyzing data to drive decision making.

Strong interpersonal and communication skills.

Ability to handle sensitive and confidential information with discretion.

Salary Range: $120K – $150K

The above pay range represents a general guideline; however, Brindley considers several factors when determining base salary that are unique to each candidate, including but not limited to the candidate's depth of experience, skill set, certifications, specific work location, and current market conditions. Employees may be eligible for discretionary bonus and/or other applicable incentive compensation plans in addition to base pay to reward individual contributions and allow employees to share in company results.

In addition, BE provides a comprehensive benefits package for eligible employees, including health, dental, and vision insurance, life and disability insurance, 401(k) savings plan with employer matching, company paid holidays, paid parental leave, compensatory time off, and paid time off (PTO).  Additional details of participation in these benefit plans will be provided if an employee receives an offer of employment.
