Job Summary:

The Inside Sales Representative is responsible for driving revenue growth through proactive customer engagement, account development, and new customer onboarding. This role manages and expands a portfolio of accounts, with a focus on reactivating inactive customers and developing underpenetrated accounts into consistent revenue contributors.

Operating within a manufacturer-to-contractor sales model, the Inside Sales Representative engages directly with electrical contractors and end users to generate demand, provide product expertise, and influence purchasing decisions. The role includes identifying and converting prospects, facilitating new account setup, and ensuring a seamless transition from initial engagement to active purchasing.

Success in this position requires consistent execution of outbound sales strategies, effective pipeline management, and the ability to meet or exceed established sales goals and performance expectations through disciplined use of CRM, ERP, and eCommerce systems.

Key Responsibilities

Sales Execution & Account Management

  • Execute outbound sales activities to generate demand and close business
  • Manage assigned accounts to drive revenue growth, retention, and share of wallet
  • Identify and develop opportunities within inactive and underperforming accounts
  • Deliver accurate pricing, quotations, and order processing in a timely manner

New Customer Development & Onboarding

  • Identify, qualify, and convert prospects into active customers
  • Facilitate new account setup, including coordination with internal teams and systems
  • Guide new customers through initial purchasing processes to ensure a smooth onboarding experience
  • Drive early engagement to establish repeat purchasing behavior

Customer Engagement & Support

  • Provide product knowledge, application guidance, and solution-based recommendations
  • Promote PSP products, programs, and value proposition to customers
  • Coordinate product samples and support customer onboarding and adoption
  • Maintain professional, responsive communication across all customer interactions
  • Partner with Customer Service and cross-functional teams to deliver a consistent, high-quality customer experience, proactively resolve issues, and support customer retention.

Pipeline & Performance Management

  • Maintain accurate account, opportunity, and activity records in CRM systems
  • Track performance against established sales targets and key performance indicators (KPIs)
  • Utilize data and reporting to prioritize activity and improve conversion rates
  • Consistently meet or exceed established sales goals and performance expectations

Training & Professional Development

  • Participate in a structured, scalable training program focused on product knowledge, industry insights, and sales methodologies
  • Continuously develop sales skills and deepen product expertise to improve customer engagement and conversion outcomes
  • Apply learned best practices to drive consistent performance and support long-term career growth

Continuous Improvement

  • Adapt sales approach based on performance data, customer feedback, and market conditions
  • Actively contribute to process improvements and team best practices

Qualifications

Required Experience

  • Minimum of 5 years of sales experience, including inside sales or account management
  • Demonstrated track record of meeting or exceeding sales targets
  • Experience using CRM systems and ERP or eCommerce platforms
  • Experience within the building products, construction, or related industries

Preferred Experience

  • Direct experience in the electrical products industry strongly preferred

  • Strong verbal and written communication skills

  • Proficiency with standard business and sales technology tools
