Position Description:

The Institutional Research Analyst I position supports the Office of Institutional Research, Analytics, and Decision Support by assisting with data collection, reporting, validation, and routine analytical activities. Working under close supervision, this position develops knowledge of institutional data, reporting processes, and higher education analytics while contributing to recurring reports, survey administration, and institutional data requests.

The Institutional Research Analyst I works collaboratively with other analysts to ensure data integrity, maintain reporting accuracy, and provide timely, customer-focused analytical support to academic and administrative departments. This position participates in professional development activities to build technical and analytical competencies.

We are unable to sponsor or take over sponsorship of a work visa for this position. The position is also 100% in-person, Monday - Friday on our Belknap campus.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

  • Assist with institutional data requests and recurring reporting activities.

  • Collect, validate, and organize institutional data from multiple sources.

  • Perform routine data quality assurance and validation activities.

  • Support state, federal, accreditation, and other required reporting processes.

  • Assist with benchmarking surveys, external surveys, and ad hoc data requests.

  • Develop familiarity with institutional reporting systems and analytical tools.

  • Collaborate with analysts and campus departments to support data needs.

  • Prepare basic reports, summaries, and data visualizations.

  • Document reporting procedures and maintain reporting documentation.

  • Maintain the confidentiality and integrity of institutional data.

  • Participate in professional development and training activities.

  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience working in higher education.

  • Experience with data analysis, reporting, or business intelligence.

  • Familiarity with Microsoft Excel and database concepts.

  • Experience using SQL, SAS, R, Python, Power BI, Tableau, or similar analytical tools.

  • Familiarity with student information systems or enterprise administrative systems.

  • Demonstrated interest in institutional research, assessment, or higher education analytics.
