We are seeking a Principal, Client Operations & Reporting to provide senior leadership across client reporting, operational oversight, and data governance for our insurance solutions platform. This role will act as a strategic point of contact for complex insurance clients, oversee reporting and servicing workflows, and drive enhancements to data quality, reporting infrastructure, and operational scalability.
Responsibilities
Serve as a senior operational and reporting lead for insurance company clients investing across alternative strategies (e.g., private credit, structured investments, corporate credit).
Act as an escalation point for complex client inquiries related to operational processes, reporting outputs, data integrity, and servicing models.
Partner closely with Portfolio Management, Investment Teams, Legal, Compliance, and Risk to deliver a high touch, institutional grade client experience.
Lead operational readiness for new mandates, product launches, and customized insurance client structures across the platform.
Provide senior oversight of client reporting governance, ensuring high‑quality, accurate, and timely delivery across portfolio‑, investment‑, and insurance‑specific reporting.
Own data quality and integrity for insurance reporting, including controls, reconciliations, variance analysis, and issue resolution across internal systems and third‑party administrators.
Partner with investment and portfolio management teams to translate complex performance results into clear, client‑ready insights and support client discussions.
Drive continuous improvement of reporting processes and formats to meet evolving client, regulatory, and accounting expectations.
Partner with Technology and Data teams to enhance reporting architecture, data pipelines, and analytics capabilities supporting insurance clients.
Champion the use of automation, dashboards, and analytics to improve transparency, scalability, and responsiveness.
Establish clear data ownership, documentation, and operating procedures across insurance reporting workflows.
Lead, mentor, and develop a team of client operations and reporting professionals.
Allocate resources across client coverage, reporting production, and strategic initiatives to balance execution and innovation.
Qualifications
10+ years of relevant experience in alternative asset management, insurance investment operations, institutional client servicing, or a related financial services environment.
Deep understanding of insurance company investment operations and reporting requirements within alternative asset classes.
Proven experience overseeing client reporting, operational workflows, and data quality for sophisticated institutional clients.
Demonstrated leadership experience managing teams and influencing cross functional stakeholders.
Strong analytical mindset with experience leveraging data to improve reporting, controls, and client outcomes.
It is expected that the base annual salary range for this Chicago based position will be $150,000 - $200,000. Actual salaries may vary based on factors, such as skill, experience, and qualification for the role. Employees may be eligible for a discretionary bonus, based on factors such as individual and team performance.
