DESCRIPTION

Michael Baker International is seeking to hire an Intern, Highways for Summer of 2026 to work out of our Chicago, IL office. The successful Highways Intern will work under the direction of a Project Engineer or Project Manager in the Chicago office supporting the Highways department with design and other technical duties/daily activities. 

We are seeking an Intern for Summer 2026. 

PROFESSIONAL REQUIREMENTS

  • Working toward a Bachelor’s Degree in Civil Engineering or similar program 
  • Focus in Transportation (or similar) preferred
  • Software proficiency – Microsoft Office
  • Excellent analytical skills
  • Strong written/verbal communication skills
  • Proficiency in organization and presentation of documentation

COMPENSATION
The approximate compensation range for this position is $19- $25 per hour. This compensation range is a good faith estimate for the position at the time of posting. Actual compensation is dependent upon factors such as education, qualifications, experience, skillset, and physical work location.
