  • Job Description

    Purpose of Job:

    The International Strategy Analyst analyzes current and future international territories and worldwide markets by conducting research, identifying opportunities and risks, and developing strategic recommendations to help Interstate succeed in the international arena. 

    Job Components:

    Market Research and Analysis:

    • Conduct in-depth research on international territories worldwide.

    • Analyze competitor activities and identify market trends. 

    • Evaluate potential entry strategies and market opportunities. 

    • Analyze pricing trends in current and future territories

    • Maintain International Department Sales and Financial Dashboards.

    • Maintain International Department Pricing Files.

    Strategic Planning:

    • Develop and implement business strategies that align with organizational goals. 

    • Identify and evaluate potential international expansion opportunities. 

    • Assist management in developing and refining International Territories Worldwide business plans. 

    Data Analysis and Reporting:

    • Analyze data to identify trends, patterns, and insights that can inform strategic decisions. 

    • Prepare reports and presentations for senior management, highlighting key findings and recommendations. 

    • Monitor the performance of international operations and identify areas for improvement. 

    Cross-Functional Collaboration:

    • Work closely with other departments, such as Marketing, Supply Chain, and Finance, to ensure alignment on international strategies. 

    • Collaborate with external stakeholders, such as government agencies and industry associations, to promote international business interests. 

    Project Management:

    • Manage international projects, from concept to execution, ensuring that they are completed on time and within budget. 

    • Identify and mitigate potential risks associated with international projects. 

    Qualifications:

    • Bachelor’s degree in Business or Finance preferred; or relevant experience.

    • 3+ years of experience in distribution operations and or financial analytics.

    • Experience working with international business owners/operators.

    • Proficient in Spanish language. Portuguese/French a plus.

    • Excellent verbal and written communication skills including the ability to present to a variety of audiences.

    • Proficient in Power BI, PowerPoint, Word, Excel, and related complement programs with the ability to create presentations, reports, and data analysis/process improvement tools to support business operations and decision-making.

    • Excellent organizational, analytical, and problem-solving skills.

    • Demonstrated ability to produce results with previous assignments; goal-oriented.

    • Proven project management skills such as planning, directing, organizing, executing, and coordinating the completion of multiple objectives and priorities to a successful conclusion under moderate supervision.

    • Inspire trust by completing projects on time and within budget and proactively communicating progress, issues, and next steps.

    • Skillful decision-making based on good judgment and discernment.

    • Fosters innovative thinking and culture with the foresight to seize new opportunities and avoid pitfalls.

    • Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to explain difficult information, influence others to build consensus, and drive change within a multi-unit operation.

    • Familiarity with international trade regulations, tariffs, and compliance requirements.

    • Must possess a passport, current, and available to travel with short notice.

    Scope Data:

    • Interact professionally with various internal departments and external stakeholders.

    • Manage small and large projects from beginning to completion.

    • Carry out responsibilities in accordance with Interstate policies and applicable regulations.

    • Exemplify Interstate’s Purpose and Values.

    Work Environment:

    • Ability to sustain posture in a seated position for prolonged periods of time.

    • Regular physical activity includes manual handling, verbal communication, and auditory tasks.

    • Specific vision requirements include close vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus.

    • Ability to occasionally lift and/or move 25+ lbs.

    • Travel International up to 50% of the time.
